Willa breathed a small sigh of relief that they didn’t actually have comfort someone who was crying, instead much happier to see Alana in the place of a stranger. Being tired was totally understandable, sometimes weeks dragged on and on, but they quirked an eyebrow at Alana falling asleep on a park bench of all places, “Heh, doesn’t seem very comfortable?” The assistant chuckled, poking an affectionate finger on their friend’s shoulder, “And in the middle of reading? Tsk, tsk,” Willa shook their finger, jokingly admonishing Alana for such a crime, “Wanna walk with me? I was just heading home to do more work.”
“You’d be surprised. It managed to get 5 minutes out of me that my bed couldn’t,” she only partially joked, a light smile covering her face. “I think I’ll just blame it on my book not being very interesting,” Alana let out with a chuckle. It was partly true, at least, she hadn’t remembered the book being awfully interesting, the first paragraph she’d made it through. SIlently nodding, she stood up in agreeance with Willa’s words, grabbing her bag from the bench and bringing the strap to her shoulder. “More work? I dearly hope you’re getting the sleep that I’m clearly not,” she said with a smile, giving them a little nudge.
