Biting and biting and biting I AM SO NORMAL ABOUT THIS!!!

One of these days I WILL write a full-blown analysis on Homura's idolization of Madoka. How she started off loving Madoka in a normal way but when failed loop after failed loop piled up, she started seeing Madoka as a beacon of light and goodness and sanity more than an actual human being.

Like of course Homura loves Madoka, but it's a VERY obsessive and almost religious love. It's literally the ONLY thing she could grab onto to keep her sanity. And then Madoka LITERALLY becomes a god through Homura's devotion to her, and Homura is left devastated because while she can love a god she can't hold hands with one.
