Hi everybody. Flower Power is the best couple of words to conceptualize the Chanel Printemps-Été 2015 Show, and I must say those flowers not only were the typical garden ones, but they also involve this special hawaiian or tropical weather that points us out the spring is yet to come.
It was impossible not to notice the show’s stage. This monumental garden placed in the middle -like is common is the Grand Palais’ Chanel Shows- is noting itself two important things: first, the flowers, that had this amazing leaves-opening, are telling us not only that the Spring-Summer time is near, but also which colors are IN this season according to the Haute Couture brand, and second, that guy watering the plants, and the guys holding the hawaiian potpourri after the beach-dressed wife, it’s a new episode in the Chanel catwalks; if we make a flashback, men had no a big place in shows, only one guy was there making a contrast with the female models, so it’s a good hint to count.
There are many thing to stand out from this show, e.g., those large, filmy skirts that make an ironic matching with some crop tops -and yes, crop tops are still in vogue-; hats and meshes that were popular in 50’s are used here, as I get it, in some way to say that sun is not a reason to forget to stay classy and elegant; the ecuestrian boots that I personally love, are here to make you feel that snow is off and you can go out looking for grass and heels are not a trend anymore (and they are lately not used in Chanel Shows); and the last but not the less, the dark make-up and the nude in black are two similar things because they mean that spring is also rainy. But on the other hand there is a profuse, exhausting and so demanding artisanal process that deserves the recognition of an excellent and magistral show under the direction of such an idol of mine and a heir of Gabrielle Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld. I must share the video.
Truly thanks for reading.
