Anniversary: 24 years ago today Star Wars: Episode II – Attack Of The Clones hit theaters in the U.S. and I was there. I re-watched my widescreen edition of the movie on DVD recently and made this illustration for the anniversary of the film.

Yesterday was the 24th anniversary of Attack Of The Clones. I made this illustration celebrating that landmark on my Galactic Countdown tumblr. Head on over there if you're a Star Wars fanatic like me. I'm counting the days to Star Wars Day 2027 and posting a unique illustration of mine regularly.

Some words about my process… The illustration on this Retro Button Pin was the first I made knowing that it was going to be a very small pinback. I made sure every part of this illustration was smooth. The source image for this was a Star Wars: The Black Series action figure of an Emperor’s Royal Guard. The pencil drawing I made as the template for my illustration was done quickly. It was the vector illustration that took time. The action figure’s helmet is shiny: a dark cherry red and glossy. It’s not easy to decide what to include and what not to. But when it’s a line drawing type of illustration, less is more. Artists are given a task. They make complicated things simple. Illustration is a visual language. Although I’m writing this little description for the sake of explaining what the process is like, it’s making a drawing or illustration where I excel. I love every aspect of it. Sure, it’s tough but so am I.

This 1994 album is getting an upgrade in just a few days from now. Madonna’s ‘BEDTIME STORIES + THE UNTOLD CHAPTER’ will be released this Friday, November 28.

Look what arrived! I’m listening to it right now, for the first time, on a CD/clock radio. Dreams do come true for Madonna fans. Wow!
