J.S. Bach Violin Partita No. 2 in D Minor Allemande 3:14 

I am playing Bach's Solo Violin Partita No. 2 in D Minor. Out of the many different solo pieces among Bach’s collection, this piece presents a clear representation of what Baroque music would have sounded like. Although our violins are no longer shaped and created like those in the Baroque period, creating the emphasis on the first and offbeats help to create and imitate the sound from the Baroque period. Even though it was pretty difficult to create the correct style with the spiccatos and ricochets, I heavily focused on phrasing the melody to play this piece.

Max Bruch Violin Concerto No.1 Op. 26 I: Allegro Moderato 6:49 

This piece introduces elements of emotions as well as technical difficulties. The first movement is a prelude to the second movement, but having much more freedom with the solos and cadenzas in the first movement, I am able to show the famous recurring lyrical melody. Practicing and performing for many years, I have developed carpal tunnel syndrome; however every time I perform, the pain disappears and the emotions overpower them. From focusing on my entrances to my intonation during chords and chord progression, I showcase my musicality with every movement and with every bow stroke, whether it is fortissimo or largamente.

Stanton Business: Clothing Store

My team and I received a free room from David Shawver, Stanton Council. After receiving it, I repainted the wall to make the room neater. 

The clothing store is a business project. We received a donation of clothes from clothing companies (ex. Forever 21), and we planned to sell the clothes at a cheaper rate for the low-income community.

Orange County Action: Food Bank

Every month, I go to OC Food Bank to pack food into boxes. Every month, we pack around 800 boxes, which are sent to the community of homeless people and single moms.

Livingstone CDC SVO: Garage Sale

I organized the products by section (ex. shoes, shirts, pants) so that the customers would have easier time navigating through.

Livingstone CDC: Health Fair

I facilitated the event by guiding the patients which station to go. Also, I helped the patients when they were filling out their medical form.

Health Fair was an event, where doctors gathered to provide free medical care to the low-income people at Livingstone CDC.

Multicultural Westview School: Special Olympics

I helped the Special Olympics of Multicultural Westview School. Before the event started, I drew lanes with a cart. During the event, I helped in facilitating the event, and after the competition ended, I organized and handed out medals to the participants.

The participants are special students of Multicultural Westview School.

My Music Career in 2017

I played the violin in the Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings, Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra, Coffee House Cabaret (School Talent Show), Chamber and Orchestra Concerts, and recitals.

Playing the violin for various performances and orchestras, dI have improved and grown to become a better violinist and student.
