Best Kept Secret, 2013, by Alejandra Ramos

Last Friday I attended what it seems to be the most promising festival created and patented by the Dutchies. Best Kept Secret is a 3-days festival in which indie-rock/pop bands have the opportunity to perform in a very natural and unsophisticated environment. I would describe as a paradise for those who loathe radio-pop and mainstream pop.

I also wish I could have taken more pictures of the Arctic Monkeys, but I think it's safe to say that next time I decide to go first row when a garage-rock band is performing, I am hiring a strong alpha male to act as my safety wall.

Alligator Running Shoes, a pop-funk band from Leeuwarden with a German frontwoman, also known as Lea, a really good friend of mine. This is also probably one of the few bands in this town that I am certainly sure that with the right management and the sufficient amount of investment, will be capable to reach an international audience. Be sure to check out all the other pictures from this set, it is definitely one of my favourites so far.

This four-piece of post-grunge/alternative dudes performed in a very cozy new venue in my hometown called TrompTheater. This was a very improvise event that I really wasn't supposed to shoot but oh well, is good to have some sort of visual memory of good friends playing music.

These are my favourite pictures from that night. I haven't really had the time to upload all of them until this morning, been quite busy with schoolwork. Anyways, I am pretty happy with the result, the stage lighting that night was quite unusual, they kept switching the main bright light from the frontman to the girl in the drums, which I thought was kind of nice that all band members had were the centre of attention at some point during the whole gig.

A couple of weeks ago, we had a project at uni where we had to recreate a scene of a meeting between a boy and a girl. These are random pictures that I found on my computer  and even though these were taken with my old Lumix DMC -FZ18, most of them turned out to look pretty cool.

Moodboard - Game Concept 

I am finally done with what will be the moodboard of my group's game concept. This is a uni project in which we have to come up with ideas for a game that involves James Bond and the Pop Culture of the 80s. I literally spent all morning finishing it. I gotta say, I am pretty satisfied with the end result.
