“You’re right about something else, my friend.” To be fair, Alek agreed with pretty much most, if not everything, Kris said. They were on the same wavelength about several things. “How are you dealing with that?” he wonders. Bad press and articles were a nightmare, putting it lightly. Dealing with that was always a headache.

“i don’t remember a moment in life where none of us were busy, somehow,” although the words were woven in jests through her lips, there was some truth behind. “we are growing up, Al… maybe one day will happen to you too.” she adds, craning a neck to catch a full view of him. there was always a reason why she trusted and was friends with these people, the closest to her earned her admiration and aleks’ boldness and overconfidence were some of the qualities she definitely admire. “thank you, but no thank you. i like you too much to see you suffer”

“Now that’s a very accurate statement.” Even while growing up, Alek had always been busy. If not with school and college, then with accompanying his father and shadowing him on his ducal duties. Being busy was engraved in him. “Oh, but if I grow up, it might shock you so much you wouldn’t be able to handle it... I can’t do this to you.” He clicks his tongue, placing a hand to his heart as his usual, playful grin curves up his lips. “Takes quite a lot of effort to get to that stage, making me suffer. My threshold is impossibly high.”

A slow smirk curved up his lips at her question. He wondered when she would be bringing him up. “I think I saw him around.” He hasn’t. There’s a pause, done on purpose. “Oh, he’s right over there.” He’s not.

“Being busy is a norm at this stage, eh? But it’s good to hear you’re doing well.” Alek understood commitment. He committed to a lot of things, but the only thing he knows he can never commit to for the long run is a relationship. They always had to end somewhere. “See, they are not me.” He clicks his tongue, the aura of confidence and vanity surrounding him as usual. “Now that’s a long list, and I’d rather show it rather than tell it.”

“Come on, you’ve got to have more faith in me, my friend.” He gives Kris a grin. He knew when and to who to let his thoughts out and when to filter them and when not to. “You can say that again. Privacy never felt so good. Though it’s only a matter of time before you’ll find a piece of news about someone spreading around here like wildfire.” He wondered who it’d be this time. Did he keep track of them? Absolutely. He had to know everything going on at all times.

“Of course.” He’ll admit it was easier having Beatrix here in the programme. He could keep a better eye on her and make sure if she were to act out, he could contain it more easily. Surely he had security reporting back, but it was different. As long as she doesn’t rebel, they would be fine. But it was Bea they’re talking about, who are they kidding? “We can always put an end to that podcast if it escalates in that direction.”

“It’s more than just the heat, I’ll say.” Too many things to indulge in here. It’ll all be even more apparent during the events. Something always has to happen during. “Actually being able to move around freely and not be stuck in the middle of nowhere.“ It felt nice not knowing you’re in a tiny neighborhood where everyone would potentially know your business. “What about you?”

It’s just been busy. “Oh now, you don’t know what I’m capable of, your imperial highness,” he drawls, the smile plastered on his lips at the implication. He knows whatever he says, Maite will have a reply waiting up her sleeve, which is part of the fun. “Unless you’re too worried I’ll just prove you wrong?”

“I can imagine. It’s good for him to have both his parents around.” Boys always need their fathers at the end of the day. He’s thinking from experience. He had spent much more time around his father than his mother growing up. “Things are going well. Ana and I had some work to tend to the past month, but it’s all settled.” Hence why they left the programme and came back. “You assume correctly. Do you know each other already?”

He nods in agreement. He had much more important things to do than to throw tomatoes around. It seemed like a waste of time to him. “Let me know if there is anything I can assist with. I know getting back into the swing of things can be easier said than done.” He can’t say he agrees though. He shakes his head at her inquiry. “I haven’t, but she’s alright. The security team is reporting back to me on her whereabouts.”
