SPOILERS AHEAD FOR GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE !

Obviously it’ll be some time until the DVD/Blu-ray release of GBA (Feb 1 y’all!) Odds are I won’t be the only one pausing and zooming in on certain scenes during the movie, particularly the one scene when we see one of the walls in Egon’s underground lab/study.

But this beautiful little piece of new trivia that most likely made the cut in this scene from the new making-of book just adds a new facet of Egon’s background and character, and therefore is probably canon.

Out of Dr Spengler’s many academic ventures, he had obtained degrees in and from:

1. Parapsychology from NYU, 1972

2. Psychology/Psychobiology from Columbia, 1969

3. Nuclear Engineering from MIT, 1980

4. May have been a professor at University of Pennsylvania ( I took Latin for 5 years and damn if I can’t translate that one diploma)

Whether the other 3 are Baccalaureate/Master’s or PhDs I can’t quite tell, but how cool is all this?
