Hey all! It’s me again. I have continued my mission and found 31 more Martys to share with you all! Of course, I must link the first horde.
As said in the first post: go check out all of these Martys if you have not already!! So much love and time gets put into these AUs.
This lot took a little more digging but!! I found this post for BttF JanAUry which I had not heard of (struggles of being new here 😖) and also looked through all the lovely work people did for it. Very useful.
Below the cut I have, to the best of my ability, provided credits, links, and brief (-ish, I’m a known rambler) summaries of each AU/timeline!
(I also tried to link tags where I could. Additionally, there are some AUs where all I could find was the BttF JanAUry description, so in some cases that is all there is. Also, apologies for any mistakes, I’m bad at proofreading)
Now, before I start, I will say there are definitely still some AUs I found that I didn’t do. Some because I literally couldn’t find anything on them, some because Marty himself was largely unchanged (sometimes other characters are the main focus, and all of your wonderful ocs… it would be a disservice to just draw regular ol’ Marty as if that could encompass all the effort put into the AU). Additionally, I am genuinely incapable of reading lists. So it’s possible I just missed it. Feel free to yell at me.
Canon adjacent (design differences): These Martys follow canon, but have major design differences.
Martine by @wyrmsickle: A wonderful fem! Marty design!! There’s fantastic drawings of her in different scenes from the movie, she and Jennifer are lesbians, and we get the twist- when she goes back in time, it’s George who hits on her… Have a look!!!!!!!!!!

Marti by @chainsaw-headache: What’s that? There isn’t enough fem! Marty? You need more? OHHHHH you’re in LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! An incredible design and you can feel the personality and sass coming off of her. And the lameness. Plus, genderbent Jennifer Jonathan, and Doc and Clara in this AU too!! The art here is also just amazing. Go check it out (you know you want to)!!!
Canon adjacent (story differences): These Martys follow canon events but diverge at a certain point in the story, either before, during, or after the events of the movies.
Stuck in the 60s AU by @bri-to-the-future: Inspired by the original BttF2 set in 1967, Marty gets stuck in the 60s! There is a *ton* of really interesting story stuff going on here, and I couldn’t begin to hope to summarize it all in one go. A lot of 60s stuff happens, also Marty has to go to court for draft dodging until he and Doc can prove he’s a minor. Baby Dave and baby Linda! And, uh. LSD may have a minor role in this. Steampunk AU by @stillpreoccupiedwith1985: “Yet another stuck in 1885, but this time Jennifer is with them in 1885. After Doc married Clara, Marty and Jennifer tie the knot and move to Kansas City. While they are there they discover an underground advancement of technology, using steam. They go to learn more as a way to see if they can use this to help get back to 1985, while also navigating their life in 1885.” (from the bttfjanAUry post). Once Upon a Time series by @bg-sparrow: An incredible fic centered around Marty, who gets stuck in 1885 (fails to get home in the DeLorean, and Doc won’t complete the time train for many years, if he could even go back home after all that time away…). He is, expectedly, not the most mentally well as a result, and this series follows not only how he deals with being stuck but also the many misfortunes that proceed to (and continue to) befall him. I won’t spoil anything, but it is insanely well written and definitely worth the read!!!
Almanac AU by @chainsaw-headache and @cheriboms: So, what if Marty actually got the almanac? It’s an incredibly interesting AU following Marty trying to grapple with a future that sucks and the struggle of doing the right thing when you’re not entirely sure what went wrong. Doc is also just trying to fix things, to save future Marty’s life, and between the different timelines and future Marty and Jennifer thinking 1985 Marty is Jr, there are so so many shenanigans and yeah. Local Legend AU by @styxbugg: Marty’s actions in 1885 get him known as a local legend, Maggie and Seamus’ accounts being the most accurate. Marty, upon his return, has to pretend he knows about ‘Clint Eastwood’ from the story and not because he *is* him. There’s lots of awesome art (more in #local legend au as well) and the whole au is so cool and I love love love the idea that he accidentally solidified himself as a historical figure and, just go have a look!!! Until I Get Home by @daryfromthefuture: Another stuck in 1885 AU! This time the focus really is on the journey to getting back to 1985 rather than that destination itself. They spend a good while stuck there, it centers on found family and emotional turmoil as they are forced to confront the implications and repercussions of their repeated journeys through time. A fantastic read, it’s really down-to-earth and the perfect slow handling of life and relationships and go!! have!! a!!! look!!!!!
Alteration by @alex-a-fans: Set in 2015, 47-year-old Marty has had a good life! He has. He just wishes maybe Doc would’ve come back in 1985. Then, Verne shows up, and it seems all is not as it seems!! So, what’s actually going on here? It’s a really interesting story idea, go check it all out!!!!!!
No Pines by @bg-sparrow: Evil Marty. He’s just not a good person, doing terrible things and being awful to other people just because he can. He’s sadistic, has a thing for fire, and he’s the one who calls the terrorists on Doc before getting the guns turned on him as well. He is utterly fascinating, so completely different from the Marty we know and love, I want to put him in a snowglobe and shake him around. There’s lots of drabbles and fics and art for this evil little guy so seriously stop reading this and go have a look for yourself!!!!! #no pines timeline
Lightning/time powers AU by @roy-the-dork: Because of all the radiation exposure/ time travelling, Marty gets lightning/time powers that trigger when he is particularly emotional/stressed. The concept follows him getting severely displaced and having to enlist the help of yet another past Doc (1931) to help him get Back to the Future™️. Well, more specifically, help him learn how to control it! Such a neat idea and I love the concept so much. There’s also some really incredible art here, check it out! H2O: Just Add Water AU by @daryfromthefuture: Inspired by the tv show H2O: Just Add Water, Marty gets exposed to some cool moon magic and now whenever he comes into any contact with water, he turns into a fish. No, wait, just his bottom half does. In all seriousness, it’s a really fun and surprisingly angsty AU! Poor Marty has to give up surfing, gets yelled at for suddenly refusing to wash dishes, nearly gets dissected… Wait what? Ahhh, well, to see more about that you’ll just have to go read about it, huh? Crazy how that works. Go go go!!!!!
MerMarty AU by @itsthemorph: This MerMarty is a flying fish! This original AU features Doc living in a fishing town as an astronomer, who does NOT believe in merfolk… until he meets Marty, that is. He reluctantly helps Marty explore the human world, who is endlessly curious about it and wants so badly to learn more! A wonderful AU with a ton of fics by other people and art and depth and, well, I’ll leave you to the rest! Go have a look!!!! #mermarty au

Percy Jackson AU by @jay-is-writing: “where marty is the son of apollo and manages his life in camp half-blood” (from the bttfjanAUry post (in linked document)). Unfortunately, this is one I couldn’t find anything on (please send pme a better link/ description if you have one! Currently linked is one of the only other posts I could find that mentioned it.) I used the design in the first linked art. Still, go have a look!
SpyxFamily AU by @izzy-draws05: While I couldn’t actually find any posts about this AU, it is inspired by SpyxFamily with Marty taking the role of Anya as the telepathic adopted child, and Doc taking the role of Loid, the spy who becomes an adoptive parent. I kind of made up a design based on Marty’s and Anya’s designs smushed together, and I don’t know much about SpyxFamily so I can’t say much else about it but!! It’s a very cool AU nonetheless! I also couldn’t find anything on it except these three drawings. Still!! Go look at them!!!!!
Miitopia AU by @daryfromthefuture: Marty and crew in the Miitopia universe, saving people from getting their faces stolen! Miitopia has a surprisingly angsty and kind of insane plot, and poor Doc saves Marty and sacrifices himself in the process. This poor, poor Marty. I wasn’t expecting the read to be as interesting as it was but it is! Marty is the hero but there is also a huge cast of characters and roles in the different arcs, from Jennifer and Linda to young Emmett and Dave, Edna as the Dark Lord, the casting was all perfect! It’s a crazy plot. The overview left my brain spinning and my heart aching. Not expected for a game about Miis. Go check it out and have a read!!! Also some really cool art!!
Spider-man AU by @styxbugg: Marty as Spider-man! Doc tries to invent a way to give people the ability to time travel, and experiments with spiders one of which, uh, Marty may or may not accidentally get bitten by. Maybe. It’s a secret ;) but Doc also ends up becoming Doc Ock for a while and Marty has an Uncle Ben experience and yeah, there’s a whole bunch of crazy cool details that you should go read about as well as look at the fantastic art for!!!! Gooooo!!!!!
Frankenstein AU by @jay-is-writing: “marty dies in the train experiment in 1885, and doc revives him with science. angst ensues.” (from the bttfjanAUry post). Everything Everywhere All at Once AU by @stillpreoccupiedwith1985: EEAaO is an incredible movie (there’s a rundown in the linked post, but to extra briefly summarize: multiverse travel, and the main antagonist experiences all of the different universes at the same time). Twin Pines George and Lorraine as Evelyn and Waymond, respectively, and poor old Marty as Joy/Jobu. “Last thoughts is George saying how his kindness isn’t a weakness, it is his strength, while also praising Lorraine’s own strength.” (from linked post). Idk I just really love this AU concept 🥺 and we get more TP George and Lorraine as MCs which is always a treat and yeah. Guys. Go read it now!!!!!!!!!!
Around the World in 80 Days AU by @daryfromthefuture: Based on the Jules Verne novel, this fic focuses on Doc and Marty’s trip around the world! Set in the 1870s, Doc puts quite a bit of money on a bet that he can make it around the world in 80 days. They get up to quite a few crazy adventures together on their journey to all the different places they see and go, so many I couldn’t hope to list them all here, and there’s a large cast of characters too, some with them for the whole ride, others not so much (to name just a few: original characters, Clara, Edna, Buford, Seamus and Maggie, etc). Especially given in BttF they’re time travellers and Doc’s love for Jules Verne, this AU fits them so so well and is such a neat adaptation!! Go have a read!!!!!!!
Marty and the Pinheads AU by @stillpreoccupiedwith1985: This felt more like it belonged with the Original AU crew but I couldn’t find enough about it to make the call. “Think of the 2001 movie Josie and the Pussycats, but with Marty and his band. Based on the fact in the movies they are just The Pinheads, but in the musical it is now Marty McFly and the Pinheads. In Josie and the Pussycats, they were just the Pussycats first. So tons of music industry corruption and Marty getting temporarily brainwashed into being a snobby rockstar.” (from the bttfjanAUry post). Unfortunately, this is one I couldn’t find anything on (please send me a better link/ description if you have one! Currently linked is the only other post I could find that mentioned it.) I made up a design based on the linked art and the costumes I saw when I looked up Josie and the Pussycats. Still, go have a look!
Over the Garden Wall AU by @alex-a-fans: Jules and Verne as Wirt and Greg, the boys go through the events of Over the Garden Wall. I don’t want to give too many spoilers for that show because it’s incredible, but Doc is the woodsman and Marty here is the woodsman’s daughter! The premise seems really cool even though I couldn’t find anything else on it!!!!!! They have other AUs over on that post, too, most of which I didn’t draw for because either I could not find a design or description of Marty or other characters were the focus. Medieval AU by @bg-sparrow: Marty is the Prince of the Hill! Emmett is the Royal Alchemist. In the linked fic, he has to marry the Princess of the Valley. He does not want to. He asks Emmett to help him get out of the marriage contract! I went based on the end of the fic for the design here, but here is also more art for this AU! Gooooo check it out!!!!!!!
Shadow’s Gambit/Spies AU by @aceofthyme: Doc and Marty as spies!!!! Doc has been working at this agency (technology and science department) for a while. He’s made it so the agency needs him and thus they can’t ‘let him go’, which Doc suspects they would have if they could. Marty gets brought in as a suspect in a case they have, Doc clears his name with science, and then takes him on as an apprentice (which the agency has been trying to get him to do for a long time). Used this art for the design! Other than what is here, I couldn’t find much else on this AU. Despite that, it really is such a fun premise and the fic linked is a really good one, go have a read!!
Royalty AU by @professorsaber: Set in the 1880s, Martin III is the Grand Duke of Hill Valley, heir to George II, Doc is still building a time machine, and Biff thinks he’s the rightful ruler… really interesting premise, I love a good royalty AU!!! (I used this art partially for the design, but the rest I made up so it may be inaccurate). Go read the fic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Zombie AU by (@styxbugg, @jay-is-writing, @mundancheemudomo)(lmk if you want me to remove the tag? multiple people were credited in the posts I found): Marty gets bit by a zombie at the very beginning of an outbreak and runs away without saying anything before he can hurt anyone. The apocalypse goes on and people assume he’s dead, but then he shows up at Doc’s and Doc can’t bring himself to ‘kill’ him and instead traps this mindless zombie version of his mentee until they can find a cure. Jennifer sees and is also devastated. Really sad premise, all the angst, they do find a cure but that meantime when they don’t and he’s just gone… Some really awesome art linked, and the AU is really interesting, but this post is all I could find!! REGARDLESS go LOOK AT IT!!
M4rty by @nemmet: Marty as a robot! He has hair antennae so Doc can call him, short circuits in the rain, and has a *load* of cool robot features that would make any other Marty jealous. There’s tons of amazing little details, the art is wonderful and adorable, and we get the coveted father/son dynamic with Doc and Marty! You must immediately go and look. NOW!!!! #m4rty au
Alien AU by @styxbugg: Unfortunately, this is one I couldn’t much on (please send me a better description if you have one! Also there’s more art here, here, and here, and a fic here.) He’s so so cute, though. He exploded his spaceship. He’s sorry about your barn. Look at him!!!!!!!!

I am also certain that many of the ones I couldn’t find anything on have content deep on ao3, I just couldn’t find it :( I am really sorry. I also know there is another bttf discord somewhere (which makes at the very least two (2) bttf discords which is awesome) that more of these are on? I’ve seen it mentioned a few times. Perhaps there would have been more information there, but alas!
Seriously, though, please send me better links and descriptions if you have them!! I can and will edit this post!!! You can pm me or send an ask or say it in the comments or a reblog or *anything*, just talk to me! I am expecting to have gotten things wrong; I will not be offended if I am corrected.
New Martys are also getting made all the time. So this is not the last you will see of this! Though it may be a while before I do it again, it’s quite a lot of work and I am a little burnt out lol.
(Lastly!!! I’m working on a google doc with all of the collected information between these two posts, so hopefully I can get that out soon! It’s just copy pasting and the links but. Still work to do, lol.)

I’ve seen the posts that are like “stop calling this a father and son dynamic, they are FRIENDS” and I always thought that was a bit dramatic but I get it now because I saw a bunch of people in the notes of my last reblog calling Doc and Marty father and son and. no????? Miss me with the George McFly erasure. Marty has a dad he loves AND he has a much older best friend whom he loves and who is extremely important in his life and those are two separate people and that’s! the point!!!!
Srry for the wrong reblog at first but THISS. I still love the "father and son dynamic" cus in twin pine George is lowkey a wimp and Marty could find a better example of a father, hence the dynamic. BUTTTTT I am a sucker for Doc and Marty being best friends like how people actually are. When was the last time you didn't call your best friend an idiot who dressed you up in a silly cowboy costume.
2025 year recap is different from last years. This year I didn't draw much, or even write. Let alone do anything for the BTTF fandom.
Instead I tried new hobbies which I'm also bringing into 2026: journaling, cross stitching, crochet, diamond painting and even playing Stardew Valley with 1001 mods.

Reasons for 27: His birthday is on 1888 October 29th, And I believe Browns left wild west in 1892, and went to 1991-1992 (Like in Animated). (And a real qoute from upcomming chapter: "“But we did! Sure, 7 years after you last saw us in 1985, but we did.” Verne put his hands up in defence. “You know two kids can’t come out of nowhere, documents had to be forged!” He even furrowed his eyebrows again at this wild accusation. ". Making Verne 4 in 1892-1992, and 26 in Altered chapters 1-3 (2015 October 21-22nd)
Reasons for 35: I could change the qoute to make it so Browns returned in 1986 (Like in the Game). Making him 32 in chapters 1-3.
