“I’ll never turn down a free drink. Thank you.”
“You looked like needed a refill and who am I deny the needs of a beautiful woman?”

Daniel dropped the subject because honestly, he didn’t want to know what kind of weird toxic relationship his sister had going on. “It’s going fine. I didn’t expect for Jane to be here as well so that’s been an adjustment. I haven’t been in the last couple of weeks, but it seems like business is going well.” He shrugged. “How’s… Whatever you’re doing?”
“Jane is a brilliant lawyer, you’re lucky to have her to help you.” He replied instantly, wondering what the other man meant by adjustment, but not really wanting to ask. “You haven’t been in? Did you just stop going to work?” Alec made a face, horrified at the thought, even when he wasn’t at work he was working. “Fantastic. You should consider investing with me. I made half a million yesterday.”
victoriuhquinn:
Victoria was still getting acquainted with the city and it wasn’t going so well. If it weren’t for the fact that she were stubborn, she would have used the GPS on her phone or called a cab. Instead, she found herself wandering along a particularly uninteresting street while looking for street numbers to find her way back to her apartment building. Just as she spotted one, a voice was heard and she looked over to see a man speaking to her. “I don’t know who that is, sorry.” She spoke with a smile. “I’m the last person to ask about anything around here.”
“You’re not going to be much help to me then, now are you?” He questioned, looking her over briefly before meeting her eyes as he spoke. “If you’re the last person that I should be asking questions to then I believe I may have run out of luck. I’ve come with only questions today. A pity you can’t help with that, I would have loved to talk with you longer.” He gave her a pointed look, letting his eyes wander over her body once more.

Avery paused as Alec spoke and turned to look at the man. She and Jane had always been good friends, so she had met Alec a few times. She tilted her hand which was wrapped around her phone against her ear to show him she was in a conversation. “Hey, I’ll talk to you later, okay?” She told her sister on the other end and hung up. “I actually don’t know where Jane is. I haven’t seen her much since she’s moved here.”
He rolled his eyes, crossing his arms and waiting impatiently for her to hang up, fixing her with a look that made it clear he didn’t care she was on the phone. When she hung up he uncrossed his arms, placing his hands in his pants pockets, “Why is she like this?” He made a displeased noise, looking around the street. “How has your move here been and do you care to explain to me why everyone wants to move to this... Lovely city.”
drewxbennett:
In a remarkably healthy way, Drew had absolutely no idea what time of day it was. If that was the case, it was probably late, and he was probably going to get yelled at. He couldn’t really blame Olivia right now, after all, he was starting to think she was right. What he wasn’t expecting was to suddenly be stopped in the street. He raised an eyebrow at the question, “Jane? How would I know?”.
“She is your sister is she not? Besides, she’s working with you. Wouldn’t it make sense that you have some idea where she might be? Her work? Her residence? Somewhere she likes to eat perhaps.” He watched Andrew, waiting for some type of response that might lead him to find his... What was she anyways? Jane. Lead him to Jane.
oliviapoitier-wc:
“Jane? I know my fiance has a sister named Jane.” Olivia’s attention was drawn to the person who had addressed her, blinking at the stranger who seemed to be on a mission of some kind. “If you’re looking for any other Janes, I don’t think I could help you. Why do you need a Jane?” Was he even talking to her?
“Fiancé?” He eyed her for a moment, looking her up and down as he tried to figure out if this was a possibility. Daniel’s maybe? “Jane Bennett. Blonde, short, brilliant, lawyer.” He shrugged a little at her question, debating how to answer it, “She left New York and I’m here to surprise her.”
dannybnnt:
“Is there a reason you can’t just text her and ask?” He raised an eyebrow. He couldn’t remember the address off the top of his head which was embarrassing for him so he just decided to let Alec look up the address for himself. “I’m not any different from the last time you saw me.”
“Yes.” He answered flatly, not giving more of an explanation than that. In reality he just didn’t want to lose, whatever game they were playing would be lost if he texted her asking where she was. “Right. Whatever you say Daniel.” He slipped his phone back into his pocket, “How’s business down here?”
dannybnnt:
Daniel had to take walks as part of his daily regimen recommended by his physical therapist, even though just walking was something he hated to do. He was used to working out hard, not going on strolls like an old lady. As he walked along, listening to music, he was in his own little world until he heard someone shout ‘excuse me’ and he pulled his earphones out with a frown. “I don’t know where she is. Probably at work.” That was all his sister did so he wouldn’t be surprised.
Alec scoffed a little when Daniel said work, he didn’t know why he’d checked anywhere else to be perfectly honest. She didn’t like to do actual real life things when she could be doing work instead. “Are you going to give me an address or do I have to do everything myself here?” He was leaning towards everything himself so he pulled out his phone, starting to look up the practice. “Is something wrong with you?” He asked, making a slight face as he looked up from his phone, “You seem different.”
Alec had been brewing in his displeasure since he’d discovered Jane was gone. The more responsible response would have been to call her, however he’d always been better at rash decisions than planned ones when it came to his ‘romantic’ life. In a fit of frustration and anger he’d gotten a month to month lease on a penthouse and packed a few bags. His not so subtle attempts to lure her out weren’t working, so he decided to go straight to the source, her office. He strode in with purpose, pushing open the door and making sure he shut it behind him as he crossed his arms, looking down at her, “I think it’s time we had a chat, don’t you agree Jane?”

sherriebest:
WOW. Sherrie pushed down on the bridge of the sunglasses she was trying on, peering over them at the man. Yeah, excuse him for walking around looking like that. He was smokin’. A slight smile curled her lips. She took off the sunglasses and thanked the vendor as she returned them. They could wait. Clearly, this poor guy needed her help. Urgently. So she strolled over to him. “Who’s Jane?” she asked, that smile still playing on her lips.
“Jane Bennett. She’s a lawyer. Blonde, about this tall.” He gestured around his shoulder, his eyes scanning over the woman before he placed his hands in his pockets. “If you don’t know her by that description you won’t know her at all. She’s named after a Jane Austin character and she’s not particularly forgettable.”
Alec made his way down the street, overall ignoring his surroundings as he searched for his blonde friend. Despite the fact that he didn’t know where he was going and where to find her, he walked with purpose, holding his head high. He moved as though he were in the middle of doing something important, but in reality he had all the time in the world. “Excuse me.” He called out as he approached, mostly only speaking to them because they were in his way, “I’m looking for Jane.”
