re several reblogtags, i said "almost" for a reason - when it initially dropped, i knew maybe four people who were absolutely adamant that the show needed to end this way, it was very rare to see. a few more who were on the "the writing was weird but it was okay" side, and many who just didn't like it. i think the opinion is more widely mixed nowadays due to new people joining the fanbase
