@alexlamia
at least can all we agree that the original gay flag with the magic and sex colours is BEAUTIFUL and it should make a comeback
what’s more iconic than this
What about the final version of the flag by the original creator?
Gilbert Baker added a 9th stripe shortly before his death, with the new stripe representing diversity. He added this stripe in reaction to the 2016 US election. It’s unfortunately not as well known as the 8 and 6 striped versions.
Here’s an image of him sewing together the 9 striped rainbow flag.
Happy pride month everyone
having someone love me to the point of turning me into a vampire so as to not lose me would fix me i think
Anyway, I hope the show manages to pull off this Lestat and not just the oft-memed "I am the Vampire Lestat..." version of him.
You can argue this rings with false grandeur because this is (in the story) the first page of the book he published in response to seeing Louis's interview...but Lestat lies the most when he's telling the truth and confesses the most when he's telling a story because the main party he's trying to convince of anything is himself. None of that is true 100% of the time, but over most of the series it's his main style.
I need hot topic (specifically them, For The Bit) to carry a plethora of tour merchandise for Lestat as if he was a real musician.
lestat absolute air-for-brains moments:
seeing raglan james in his body and not immediately recognizing it and checking himself out like “who’s that handsome piece of- wait a minute that’s me”
when jesse grabs him while he’s performing because she’s having some kind of spiritual/philosophical meltdown and he’s just like ‘woah a groupie…Fucking Sweet’ and kisses her
passively learning to read using Vampire Brain Powers but not realizing he could read for…who fucking knows how long
running face-first into a closed window
occupying a human body for the first time in 200 years and immediately tripping over a rug and then being like “holy shit that could kill someone”
also when he’s wandering around as a human, seeing david and getting so distracted by the prospect of sleeping with him that he forgets about the plot of the book and david has to remind him that they’re supposed to be catching the bad guy
when akasha kidnaps him and tells him she plans to exterminate all men and he’s like “well that fucking sucks akasha come on men aren’t so bad” and then like 100 pages later he’s finally like “wait a minute…i’m a man”

happy 100th birthday to miss norma jeane aka marilyn monroe ♡ i love you
"you're so chill" thanks i gave up
I love The Golden Girls.
Ya’ll don’t have any idea how fucking brave and needed these plot lines were.
This was before Ellen came out.
This was before civil unions.
This was before Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.
This was when your ass could be fired, blacklisted, and shunned with no legal protections for even being hinted at being gay.
And the Golden Girls said “Fuck you, Fuck this, we’re doing it anyway.”
I think it should be noted that Blanche’s quote about AIDS is also “It is not god punishing people for their sins” and that the episode also deals with slutshaming.
I don’t know if people realize how much activism these women did for gay right and during the aids crisis. If you think about it they were all long established in Hollywood and Broadway. They had tons of friends personally affected and dealing with the aids crisis. Estelle Getty lost a nephew. I think they helped plant seeds in people who watched Golden Girls that helped make things a little more normalized and mainstream.
