mariusdanjou:
He had always been raised to be chivalrous, despite the rumours of dastard visions, he did not seek the discomfort of his estranged wife and would rather see her seek a happiness that had long been kept at bay. So, with Alexandre of Aquaintaine’s admission, Marius could not help but grimace beneath his morose expression. “And how did she react?” He asked, a brow quirked in curiosity as he stood before the other, waiting for an answer to paint the picture. He had asked for something perhaps unattainable to the Duke, but Marius still had hope that he was the one who may fill in the cracks left empty by unwilling spies and lost men. Shifting his weight from foot to foot, Marius leaned against the wide birth of a nearby tree-trunk, an ear left to listen for any incoming footsteps. “Have you heard anything of France, Alexandre? I know it is a lot, but we must keep to planned advantages…”
The dissolution of Marius’s marriage had shaken France and Italy and destroyed the tenuous relationship between the two countries. Still, Alexandre had to applaud the man for going after what he wanted. “She seemed offended by my rebutal but other than that she has promised to help find me an Italian bride. At least that way there is a reason for me seeking out her company.” Did Marius still care for his wife? Alexandre couldn’t quite understand the man’s thoughts. “I haven’t seen the king for weeks, I assume he has yet to arrive but still as soon as he is seen I will make my presence known.” He had everything planned. From the wine sourced from his own vineyards to the whore he’d alredy tried out. The king’s desires would be met and a friendship would blossom.
