do you take icon requests??

          Depends, sweetpea! I actually have template commissions open and the prices are moderately reasonable, and this is more of a help with characterization blog less than a graphics help blog ( believe me, I am nowhere near quality or confident enough to help with graphics haha ) … And in all honesty, I don’t want this blog to get overrun with requests for graphics and icons that I lose the overall point of the blog which is character help, not graphic help.          If you’re a close friend I’ll do it no problem but I’m less than comfortable making icons for free for people I don’t know. I’m sorry!

are   you  tired  of  feeling  left  out  of  the  psd  fun ?  maybe  you  have  a  chrome book  &  can’t  use  photoshop ,  maybe  you  have  a  computer  you  aren’t  allowed  to  download  junk  to.  never  fear.   today  i  found  FOR  FREE , PHOTOPEA.COM.  you  can  open  psds,  edit  them,  and  saving  icons  is  as  easy  as  file >  export  >  save  .png  >  copy  to  clip  board.

          The best thing I can do is direct you to dafont.com! I get all of my fonts from that website, and it’s super easy to download if you have winrar! ( some of my current favorites are brushgyo, champion shipmate, and bristle brush script! )

Hi. How do you make a blog "quality" if you don't know HTML or have photoshop or other fancy things like that?

         Hey sweetie! First of all, there should be several ps downloads on the internet, here’s a masterlist made by another lovely that I’ve found! But, if you can’t download it, no fear! There are things just like photoshop ( pixlr editor saved my life ) that you can use! HTML is relatively easy to use, but you can always ask someone who does themes ( or me, to some extent I guess ) to help out with psds! Theme-hunter is a really good resource for themes or you could always ( if you’re looking for ~quality themes ) check out the “container themes” tag on tumblr! A lot of that is just getting rid of the old HTML in your old blog and copy-pasting the new code! I could always help you out if you have any specific questions.

         …But. All in all, what makes you quality is your writing. You could have the most basic theme and no icons, no formatting, but your writing is what all in all makes a good, quality blog. I get the pressure of wanting to be quality, but if your writing ain’t shit, then… Y’know. Don’t worry about quality, babe. You’re just fine. <3

What's a self insert? I've been seeing this term a lot lately but I don't know that it is.

          Ah! A self insert is an oc-like character based on the mun, usually used for venting purposes! Basically, someone takes themselves, tweaks it a bit, and uses it to rp! They’re very harmless and awesome to interact with! A lot of people give them the rep of being “mary/gary sues” which I won’t get FULLY into ( see last ask ) but they’re very harmless and in some cases can be very fun to interact with when you know how to play them correctly!

how do you make an oc good and not a mary sue?

            The thing that I commonly find is best for making ocs / avoiding being a mary sue is the following: try not to worry about it. This is why I say that: I spent a LOT of time worried that my ocs have been mary sue-ish, but the only way that you can really get rid of that feeling is know that everyone will have a different opinion on your oc. The first step is making sure that YOU are coming up with a character that YOU will like. All else is moot, because rp is a hobby. If you’re happy, fuck if people think that your character is a mary/gary sue! That phrase is already so dated, you know? Write characters you wanna write, as long as it’s not hurting anyone.
