I know the counter argument will be context matters, but also

WHY would he reject an offer to HEAL his injured uncle? I feel like you need to swallow your emotions and get him help.

Also a good reminder to those people who always say Azula wouldn't accept help so there's no point in offering. Zuko repeatedly rejected help throughout the show.

Canon Zuko:

Called Azula "sick" after she told him their grandfather passed away

Said "girls are crazy!" while throwing his hands up and storming off after he fall in the fountain with Mai because of the prank Azula set up

Screamed at her "I'm not going to play with you!" in a confrontational pose

Literally jumped over a cliff to fight Azula right after she declared "I'm about to celebrate being an only child!"

Tried to stab her with fire daggers after she lied to him (in The Avatar State)

Brust into her bedroom at night when she was asleep, yelled at her then left the room leaving the door open (this alone deserve a murder attempt tbh)

Chased her in The Chase to fight her

Nods when Iroh said "she's crazy and she needs to go down"

Said "No! I'm tired of running! It's time I faced Azula!" Then tried to take her head-on while she has dozen of Dai Li surrounding her

Said "Me, too." in determination after Suki said "This is a rematch I've been waiting for." on fighting Azula again

"Katara, how would you like to help me put Azula in her place?"

Takes advantage of her deteriorated state to win in the Last Agni Kai "I can take her this time." / "But even you admitted to your uncle that you would need help facing Azula." / "There's something off about her; I can't explain it but she's slipping. And this way, no one else has to get hurt."

Taunts her about her not using lightning because he can redirect it

Smiled when Iroh told him "I will teach you a firebending move that even Azula doesn't know, because I made it up myself."

Made "Azula always lies" line and repeat it over and over again

Lied to her about Aang possible survival after she asked him a direct question

Expressed bitterness and jealousy of her to unconscious Aang

Bitterly told her "I guess you wouldn’t understand, would you Azula? Because you’re just so perfect."

Never said anything when Azula confessed her feelings in the campfire

Challenged her to put an apple on her head that he would throw his knife at after Azula told him "You waste all your time playing with knives. You're not even good!"

Demanded her to give his possession (knife) back and grabbed it from her

Im still not over the way azula was treated in the comics. You are telling me that a fascist in her late 20’s/early 30’s gets to be redeemed but a 14 yr old that was clearly in need of mental help isn’t even worthy of understanding?

Once I saw someone hating on Azula calling her a horrible person and whatnot and genuinely just saying terrible shit about her and it made me cry because the atla fandom will love and adore an old fart who committed war crimes because he’s funny but treat an unloved mentally ill 14 year old who just lost her only friends/stability in life like she bombed every city in the world

like no ones saying Azula is the most moral character in the show but she’s definitely not the least

it just makes me sad because Azula’s treatment is very much coated in sexism and how women’s mental health is viewed, especially in younger girls in media, like zuko gets to be “complex” “deep” character while Azula is “pure evil”, when Azula is equally complex if not more complex than her brother.
