What do you think about Mai x Azula?

Ohhh Maizula, I’ve read some fanfics and seen some fanarts about it but I don’t know that much about it. It’s definitely an interesting ship and there’s so much possibilities about it. In fact I just visited maizula tag again after seeing this because I remember some really cool fanarts and one specifically very angsty fic (😭). I’m a multishipper and I’ve actually shipped maizula and also maizulee and a bunch of other ships. I can very much see the allure of maizula (there’s also this funny post about this aspect of the ship “stealing your brother’s girlfriend”). Canonically in the cartoon the two characters might not have demonstrated much affection towards one another(maybe even some dislike?)—and that’s probably part of the ship’s dynamic. The reason I don’t ship maizula as much as some other ships that I like more in comparison is that I don’t think the writers have done a very good job on Mai’s character like some other mistakes they’ve made in the show here and there, and that combined with how the plot has gone and the ending. However, I can say for sure of what I’ve seen and think, that maizula’s 100% a cool ship and there’s very much amazing fanarts and fanfics of it by talented and creative fans!

(Maybe I am trying to put a question here to get attention, or maybe Im also trying to remember what was Azula’s intent here at finding Jeong Jeong💀

Yes! Its from an idea from my friend who’s also a fan of Azula.

Roughly what’s happening here is adult Azula (after a healing-arc) taking her young self, riding on the blue dragon, in attempt at escaping the royal palace(a conceptual drawing): the toxic environment where her childhood trauma had taken place at. It is supposed to be a WIP; Ozai, guards, Iroh are supposed to be around them to stop them. Ursa worried in the distance but kept herself aside to placate and keep watch of Zuko.

Azula is also statting conjuring a lightning here, but as we know Iroh has redirection skills on that so its sort of an implication on how Azula’s fate had been always pre-determined as a tragic one; from her birth, to her end-the comet and her madness-of the canon show

Did a fanart for a fanfiction series on ao3 “Dragon Empress: The Legend of Azula” by Notorious_PAT (Specifically Book 1: Empire of Fire and Lightning, chapter 11: A Girl). Which I really love.

I have substituted the original clothes with some others because when i had been reading it i was rushing so quick (because I wanted to read all of the plot lines and what happens next badly) that I didn’t really paid attention to narrations of their appearances in the story. Therefore i had used kyoshi warrior outfit for Ty Lee here and some royal looking clothes for Azula (basically fire lord ones).

I know you're a huge Azula fan, so do you think Azula should get a redemption arc? If so, how would it go?

i want her to continue her healing arc and become an anti hero. she deserves to find new friends and a girlfriend (yes i hc her as a lesbian). her mental health is way better in her solo comic. they should continue her story
