These costumes got a huge amount of attention. As much as I adore being Peach, I was so unhappy that I was unable to enjoy the con. Every time I entered a stall someone wanted to pull me back out again for a photo. Every time I stopped for one photo, I'd have to wait for 10 more. I couldn't walk 5 metres without being asked to stop. We couldn't even eat or use the bathroom in peace. I'm just so disappointed in the Gold Coast crowd.

Pokemon is pretty amazing but having watched the first series for the first time in years, I noticed some odd things.

How is it possible that a 10 year old kid is allowed to backpack through cities alone?

Ash almost kills his pokemon on his first day.

The girls are Cerulean city gym claim to only have one pokemon, a Goldeen. But they call a Seel over to give Ash the gym badge.

When the girls are performing the synchronised swimming routine, the entire crowd is male.

I couldn't understand why Arcanine was pictured on the wall with Arcticuno, Zapdos and Moltres in the Viridian City Pokemon cente. Turns out they are considered legendary, although a number of Officer Jenny's have them as Police dogs. Also, is it really Moltres on that wall? It makes sense (uno, dos, tres) but isn't it a Ho-oh that Ash sees?

I guess as I watch more I'll find more stupid things.

Simon Baker is playing his character from The Mentalist in the ANZ adverts. I don't know why he doesn't use his Australian accent on the show anyway but there is a Welsh actor, who has an English accent, who also uses an American accent. The point in the ads is that he knows what you're looking for from a bank...I guess that made sense for them to use him as Patrick Jane. Simon Baker is still a very proud Australian :)

If it's one thing that irks me, is it's Americans pulling Australian Accents in tv and movies. Seriously, there are tonnes of Aussie actors dying for a part and their accents actually sound real. Nobody talks with that old bush accent anymore. I can understand when Aussies have to pull American accents. I mean if the movie is set in America and the character is American then sure, it makes sense. But why does and Australian actor, pull an American accent for an Australian advertisement? Simon Baker (the mentalist) is an Australian actor. He currently lives in the US and I believe is now a citizen so he can vote. Fair enough, good on him. I saw him on a television advertisement for the bank 'ANZ' the other day. Wasn't really paying any attention until I realised he was speaking with an American accent. Really, is it necessary? It annoyed me a lot and I can't even explain why. It's just a advert but for some reason I'm confused, offended and angry. Confused as to why he had to use a false accent, offended that he is using the accent when I know he still has an Aussie one and angry for the same reason. If someone knows why, please tell me.
