Mwakirunge Dumpsite

Mwakirunge dumpsite, Mombasa County, Kenya. June 2016. 

“Life was very hard, before the trainings with ActionAid. We would scavenge survive on food from the garbage to feed my family of 7 children.”

“I am grateful to ActionAid for taking me to Nairobi, it exposed me to the business of recycling brown boxes and also linking me with the companies in Mombasa who were interested in purchasing cartons for recycle. I have been able to construct a house a tin house and my older children are in school.”
