So this is what I'm up to.

Now that my life is less travel, and more average, daily, common life it becomes more difficult to share things on this blog. It served a great purpose while I was travelling, and I enjoyed sharing and keeping everyone in the loop. But now for the most part my life is work (which yes, is often exciting and still travel related), getting food and adventures with friends. It feels petty and private to share mundane things such as when all my friends go out for dinner or when I go skiing. And sometimes there are things I feel compelled to share, to keep everyone in the loop that I’m not ready to share publicly.

I’m so damn thankful for this world we’re in, right things happen when you’re doing the right thing 💛 had the best, most humbling delivery today to Nanaimo and it was just the spirit lifting I needed.

Waitangi Day celebrated in Vancouver. Here’s Rena Owen, from Once Were Warriors saying her most famous line.

Lots of prizes were drawn, but the big prize for flights home was won by an old guy who was all teary eyed, and managed to say he hadn’t been home in 20 years. Not a single person in the house wished they had won, highlight of the night!

Also tied in the night as some birthday drinks, had plenty of shots and managed to have drinks spilt on me on 3 different occasions! My cute friends all pooled in and bought me a watch. Two more days until 23!

I caught up with a girl I met in Bolivia, and look at my cute lil boyfriend organised! Bottle of wine upon arrival, and the best catch up 💛💛

Drank a wee bit much, in true Wild Rover fashion, had 3 hours sleep and right back into the job!

Have survived -25°C conditions.

Made someone cry today.

Can drive through ice and snow.

All day Monday I’m spending travelling to Regina, Saskatchewan to help set up the new office. Buttttt these are the temperatures I need to endure till Saturday 🥶

It snowed a tiny bit for the first time this winter in downtown ❄️

Vancouver has set up a really cool food festival, where they arranged restaurants to participate. Each restaurant has a set 3 course “Dine out Vancouver” menu, for $45. Which is great value at the high end restaurants, or there are some cheaper menus at cheaper restaurants. Anyway, have a look here if you’re curious.

Work hard, play hard 👊🏼

Don’t be thinking it’s all play on this side of the world 😂😝 I’m starting to work some big hours again with work. Hitting over 30 hours in the past two days getting up to Terrace. I was lucky enough to have good weather and few vehicles on the road. Too many clouds to see the mountains in all their glory this trip. Drove right through the geographical centre of BC.

Australia Day festivities, because we need any excuse for a party. We even had a live band in the living room for a few hours and got well and truly rowdy. The best friends I could ask for 💛

Got stuck in Kelowna for my Friday night. Had the worst delivery yet, thankfully the guy was nice but it’s never great to be the delivery driver for someone who isn’t happy with their product.

No flights out after 9pm, and first out is 10.45am. Missed my Friday night out with friends, missed a Saturday morning hike, let’s hope I don’t miss the Australia Day antics in the avo.
