Tag game, thanks @barmadumet ! ❤️
What book are you currently reading?
"Mudlarking: Lost and Found on the River Thames" by Lara Maiklem
What's your favourite movie you saw in theatres this year?
Only get to go when I'm taking kids, so Matilda the Musical
What do you usually wear?
For work vintage style dresses with lots of colour and pattern to perk me up, at home, leggings and a shirt dress.
What's your star sign? Do you share a birthday with a celebrity or a historical event?
Leo. And birthday shared with @pronker 😁
Do you go by your name or a nickname?
My IRL name is so short I've never had a nickname. Mya was my original LJ name and I use that online
Did you grow up to become what you wanted to be when you were a child?
No not at all, I only ever wanted to be an artist, but I was sensible and did science and I've been stuck with it ever since!
Are you in a relationship? If not, who is your crush if you have one?
Yes married a loooong time
What's something you're good at vs. something you're bad at?
I'm good at listening and really understanding what people mean, which is super useful in my line of work. I'm really bad at anything involving heights, which I found out after attempting to do one of those tree top trekking courses. 🤢
I would have a dog if I could be at home more during the day.
If you draw/write, or create in any way, what's your favourite picture/favourite line/favourite etc. from something you created this year?
Fandom-wise, I have many almost abandoned WIPs, but here's a tiny snippet from Chapter 4 (unposted) of my Obikin fic, Just Like Heaven:
Anakin is crowding him now, eyes flashing, but Obi-Wan does not take a step back. Instead, he finds anger rising in him, and that, mixed with the sense of Anakin so close, feels wildly dangerous. “Get out,” he says, with quiet venom, fixing Anakin with a stare. “Now.”
And yes, it is that kind of tension. 😉
What's something you'd like to create content for?
What's something you're currently obsessed with?
Mudlarking, which is kind of like archeology without the digging, you find stuff in rivers instead, especially the Thames which is tidal and has had centuries of interesting stuff dropped/thrown/washed into it.
What's something you were excited about that turned out to be disappointing this year?
Star Wars Celebration was a bit of a disappointment mainly because the trip was super exhausting, and ended with Covid
What's a hidden talent of yours?
I am pretty good at cooking, not anything fancy but rustling something up from random ingredients. And I'm pretty good at old fashioned navigating, just hand me a map.
Are you religious? No although sometimes I wish I was, because grief is pretty shitty if you don't believe I'm anything.
What's something you wish to have at this moment?
Time and freedom to travel and spend more time outside instead of at a computer screen.
Tagging anyone who actually reads to the end of this!
