☆ I’m not big on DNI’s, however if you support the usage of TME/TMA labels, or are against the use of the terms transandrophobia and exorsexism, do not engage with my posts.
pretty shocking claim, isnt it? the kind of claim that should be backed up with evidence, right?
well, I agree. in fact, I spent an hour writing up a long reblog proving that the random user @/tomboyfriends is not and has never been the coiner OR the person who popularized the term "transandrophobia", only for the very same person who asked for proof to instantly block me, making my post disappear for everyone else.
I am not going to just drop that. this is now deliberate misinformation being spread by @daughter-of-sapph0, who I now know for sure knows better.
so this is my own original post, documenting her claims and demands for proof, and the post I wrote giving her just that:
below is the reblog chain that led to this.
/end of screenshots
my response:
right. so you admit you vaguely know who saint is, AND that He's the real coiner, but youre claiming that its on ME for thinking that a post that says "the word transandrophobia was coined by a detrans nazi twerf" is about Saint, when there's zero context as to who youre claiming is the "real" coiner. this post is written that way to confuse. even in the screenshots you're using as proof, @/neongreentoxicity immediately knows that person thinks the post is referring to Saint. it is not on me for just reading the post the way its written.
but sure, I will prove how silly this entire conversation is.
this random person who i have NEVER heard of even puts IN that literal post that the word has been used before online, and IN the screenshots you give, @/neongreentoxicity notes that they do know that the word was actually coined on Twitter in 2017. so yall DO know that it is an abject lie to call this person the coiner. she objectively isnt.
also, her bio clearly says "no longer crypto", so she ADMITS she was a crypto all along. crypto terfs exist to spread misinformation and stir up problems in the trans community. this random person ADMITS thats what they were doing!!!!!
but ig now the bar has been moved to proving that she didnt popularize it. fine. thats incredibly easy to prove.
unfortunately, Saint has lost all His posts, as multiple times He was reported repeatedly until He was terminated. so ofc that makes it difficult to prove His popularity, and i know you dont gaf about the actual repeated testimony of people who have been in the community since before this random person's post existed, so I wont even try to use my own experiences as evidence.
but thankfully, we can just use our brains here.
here is that nazi's "coining" post, where op clearly says they didnt coin it, as it already exists. they clearly found the term themselves, and made this post just trying to spread awareness of the term.
lets look down at the bottom. how many notes does this post that apparently "popularized" the term have????? forty-four notes. hmm.
if you go through every other post about transandrophobia on this person's blog, you will see that only ONE other one was made by them. it has fifty-eight notes. interesting.
now lets compare that, shall we?
unfortunately, Saint's old posts are all wiped from this website. I even signed into my old blog where multiple times I helped Hymn find His old posts and sent them to Hymn after he was termed. here's a taste of what that looks like:
genuinely, it goes on and on and on. all of His old posts are gone. its kinda heartbreaking, as its some of the history of our community and a lot of the posts that helped me come to terms with being trans.
all is not lost though. @nothorses (who i will refer to as Grey) is thankfully still around. Grey has been the archiver for our community for quite awhile, and was a mutual and friend of Saint's from the getgo (or at least before I showed up). if you ask around, I promise you that most people will credit either Saint or Grey (or Jaz, or a couple others who routinely reblog from both of them) as where they first came across the term. Grey is always the first to point out that Saint coined it, though ofc now Grey has a lot of original posts and is a trusted figure in the community.
without spending too much time on it (I am sure you can find old Saint posts on Grey's blog somewhere, but I already spent too much time on this post), here is a popular older post of Grey's. no, it is not from before that random person's "coining" post, but it IS just five months later, and you can clearly see that Grey is a popular Tumblr user. this is his original post, and it has six-figure notes.
here is an original post from Sept 2020, wherein Grey uses the term "transandrophobia" and explains its systemic and real-world effects. no, it is not as popular, but as anyone in the community can attest—any post that describes transmasculine oppression using the word "transandrophobia" will never make a lot of notes. however, tons of his original posts from 2020 about transmasculine oppression that do not use the term have a fuckton of notes.
this should be sufficient to prove that he is a popular Tumblr user who blogs about the transmasculine experience. and he has also been using the term transandrophobia since 2020.
now, even if we pretend that this nazi terf liar actually coined the term (which your screenshots definitively prove to be false), how on earth can you claim that she popularized it? she doesnt have a single post on it that breaks three figures. not even 100 people have interacted with her posts.
i wish i could reblog all the i hate sex posts because they’re terribly funny but unfortunately it’s just not true. i don’t hate sex. i’m literally thinking about it while i’m on the clock. on the clock? i wish i was on the. well. i shan’t say
[leftistly] [secularly] having sex causes a hard to quantify but unmistakable change in your personality and being that can be detected by others. Having sex for the first time imbues you with qualities and deep understandings that you did not have in your pre-sex state.
Tumblr user standing at the front of the classroom picking petals off of roses and crumpling and uncrumpling paper and showing you that the tape is never the same amount of sticky again after being used: -except I think this is a good thing
Genuinely though it is so frustrating that nonbinary rights and exorsexism are not treated seriously at all, even from within the queer community. It sucks that there's not even an option for an X gender marker in so many countries, including in more progressive queer-friendly ones. It sucks that if enben want to get gender affirming care that we're advised to lie about our gender (or lack thereof) in favour of a more binary trans identity lest we jump through a million extra hoops on top of the million already in place for binary trans people to prove we're serious in order to get the care we want/need. It sucks that in most cases we're still forced into some kind of binary and I wish that the issues we deal with were acknowledged more.
people on this website love doing this thing where they say some form of “I hate men, and I think they should all just die”, and then when you point out that statement also includes marginalized men (who are often also targets of violence), they get really mad at you
choosing to play oppression olympics isnt just mean and inconsiderate. like I feel when you call ppl out for it theyre like "does it hurt your feelings that I said your privileged?" like no you are actually doing some serious damage to your own cause
like the recent estrogen legislation. estrogen should never be made a controlled substance. everyone should have easy access to gender affirming care, including DIY. but when people try to spread awareness for this serious issue by acting like trans men arent as affected by institutional transphobia, it just becomes an argument about disinformation, because testosterone is ALREADY a controlled substance. I want estrogen to remain an uncontrolled substance because I want to save trans women from the bullshit than trans men have been having to deal with for over 30 years. and then you have a bunch of people arguing about this bullshit with each other while the law just plods on thru the government and everyone loses.
recently I saw a person talking about the recent, tragic murder of Juniper Blessing. but instead of honoring her memory, this person said that trans men dont experience the same danger. and of course that caused people to bring up the also very recent murder of Luca Redbeard. Both these violent hate crimes and murders happened THIS MONTH and it makes me sick that the trans community cant even honor their memories properly because theyre too up their own asses arguing about who has privilege and social power over the other, instead of seeing that we are all living the same fucking nightmare
both trans men and trans women are punished for our proximity to both feminity and masculinity. people decide when we are men or women based on what is the WORST option at the moment. we both get treated like women only when someone needs to infantalize us or call us bossy, bitchy, stupid, vapid. we both get treated like men when someone wants to demonize and paint us as violent, predatory, abusive, perverted. NONE of us are benefiting from any gendered privilege, because we are always treated like the worst of either gender depending on the scenario. this is something all trans people experience, regardless of agab, both trans men and trans women. so why do we assume that the other side has the opposite experience as us?? why do you think that because your life as a trans man or a trans woman is painful, that a trans person of a different gender must have the opposite experience?? like i just dont get the preschool level understanding of gender like "well boys and girls are opposites so of course our experiences are opposites too" we are living the same transphobia and if you cant see it you need to listen to other people more

We gotta do something about ecoableism, guys, I can't keep seeing people confidently assure everyone that their ideal world is one where disabled people with specific needs don't get to be alive.
The most insidious thing about eugenics is that society is so ableist the majority of people do actually think eugenics would work and disabled people are better off dead, they just tack on an assumption that while yes eugenics works it's still bad because disabled people dying for being disabled is morally wrong. But they never actually think it's scientifically or medically wrong. We're just civilized enough we've decided to politely pretend the science isn't right because social justice.
It's like how a bunch of celebs were big on body positivity and fat liberation...until Ozempic dropped and it turns out no, none of them ever believed any of that! They just pretended to bcs up until now healthy, long term weight loss was impossible so they had no choice but to cope by learning to love themselves no matter how they looked...but now that it's here we can go back to the truth! Being fat is ugly and gross and unhealthy and you should starve yourself and take experimental meds right now so you can be skinny which is what ALL humans are clearly supposed to be!! Yeah that body positivity stuff was fun, but come on. We know you actually just wanna be skinny and think being fat is a fate worse than death.
That's what it feels like to me. Every single time. Honestly in a lot of other areas too, one of the big issues with the left is that they really do seem to think that Republicans are right about how things work and should work but we just pretend otherwise because it's the right thing to do and it reduces suffering. Which seems fine, but you cannot be an effective leftist like this. You do actually have to deconstruct your beliefs and biases and world systems, you can't go around like "well yeah we aren't gonna kill disabled people that's eugenics and it's wrong" when you clearly don't actually think it's wrong. You think eugenics would work but implementing it would be uncivilized, and it shows. You have to actually understand that racism and ableism and all other forms of bigotry are not just cruel, but entirely incorrect.
Idk if this makes sense but yeah. We gotta do something about this.
This is also how you get people being like "I'm not an ableist! I love disabled people!" after making a joke about Trump wearing diapers or not being able to walk down a ramp. They don't think ableism is wrong, they just think it's right but impolite, so only okay aimed at those who deserve to be insulted.
Ngl I'm glad I figured out how to word this, bcs trying to articulate it as "you don't actually think bigotry is wrong you just think the target should be someone else" always felt incomplete! I now know what I meant was "you don't think bigotry is wrong you just think it's impolite and that's different" that's what I needed. You just think bigotry is being mean to a marginalized person who, crucially, has done nothing to deserve it. The second they do tho? Anything is fair game.
I think the situation where trans men are now banned from all public bathrooms in the UK is a perfect summation of transandrophobia.
It happened in broad daylight. It was telegraphed ahead of time; TERFs were very clear they wanted trans men removed from public life entirely. Yet during the entire lead-up, and even since then, people have erased transmascs completely from the conversation, saying they weren't in danger like transfemmes are, and in fact alleging that transmascs enjoyed a measure of protection from TERFs, who allegedly just see them as confused little girls they want to protect.
And while people were busy being useful idiots and spreading TERF propaganda for them, while people were busy actively denying the threat to transmascs, TERFs made it so transmascs can be excluded from any public bathroom in the UK.
That's transandrophobia in a nutshell. Trans men don't die in the spotlight, they die in the shadows, and are told they're privileged for their quiet, out-of-sight deaths.
If whoever's reading this is questioning their identity, or worrying whether they're really trans, then you need to know something:
The only thing you need to be trans is to want to be trans! It's a decision you and only you can make.
Sure, there are lots of things most people do and labels most people use. But you don't need any particular one. Figure out what makes you feel alive first, then find the label that fits you. If it doesn't fit perfectly, that's okay! If you preferences change over time, that's okay too!
"What if I don't feel strongly enough about being trans to start HRT?" You wanting HRT is itself a strong sign you should do it. That thought simply doesn't cross a cis person's mind. Less than 1% of those who start HRT say they regret it later. You would definitely regret not starting it more.
"I think I'm a boy/girl but I prefer my AGAB's presentation." Then be a masc-presenting woman or femme-presenting man, or something in-between. You can be both non-binary and a man/woman if that makes you happy ("enby" isn't some kind of third gender; it's anything that's not strictly "male" or "female"). It's your gender; you make the rules!
"Am I doing enough to be seen as a man/woman." Don't frame it this way. Ask yourself whether you're doing enough to make you happy. Though virtually all trans people experience dysphoria, healing it is built on cultivating gender euphoria. The only right way to be trans is to do what makes you happy! Ignore anyone who says you're not suffering enough to "deserve" being trans.
You deserve love and happiness, so seize it with your own hands!
I feel like a lot of transmisogyny vs transandrophobia debates could be settled by simply acknowledging the fact that:
A lot of transphobia specifically targeted at trans women and/or transfemme people, does so by exposing their transness and making them hyper-visible
A lot of transphobia specifically targeted at trans men and/or transmasculine people, does so by erasing their transness and making them invisible.
A lot of exorsexism and intersexism works on the same erasing and making invisible principles, though much like with binary trans people there can be overlap.
This doesn't mean anyone is more or less oppressed then the other, it simply just means the specific way we are oppressed is different. Which was the point in coining different terms outside of transphobia to describe our experiences.
say what you will about the rest: but hard disagree on the last bullet point.
A.) nonbinary people are not some magical third gender with all the same experience. Theres transmisogtnized nonbinary people. There's nonbinary people who face transandrophobia and similar words. There is 0 way to categorize nonbinary people all into one. Exorsexism exists and harms them, but to other them into that specific thing as if it's its own seperate axis or something is an absurd framework. It's not boy trans, girl trans, other trans. That's not how we should view this.
B.) Intersex people are even MORE diverse to the point you genuinely cannot make any overarching statement on how intersex people are oppressed (like this at least) because there's just that much variety.
EG.) My transfeminization and experiences with systemic transmisogyny are very much intertwined with me being intersex. And this is true for many other intersex people. They DO get that hypervisibility.
idk i just feel like this post is very surface level and i hope nobody takes away hard beliefs from it. its not got the nuance down right.
Hi, just wanted to say I appreciate the feedback first and foremost. And that it was worded in a constructive way.
I will admit when I made this post it was more of a getting my thoughts out type of thing, it wasn’t supposed to be super in depth theory. On top of that it was originally only had the first two points, but it felt wrong to exclude the two parts of the community that get left out of the conversation so often. The post was meant to be on the shorter side as I just didn’t have the time to go any further with it. There is an argument to be made that I should have adjusted the tags on my post accordingly, but I er on the side of thorough tagging.
I am aware that nonbinary people are not some secret third gender, I’m nonbinary. I based that point off of my experiences as a nonbinary person. Who, despite being nonbinary for 10+ years, did not even know exorsexism was a word until a few months ago. And also the experiences of other nonbinary people in my life/online, who (myself included) feel like they are made invisible in conversations surrounding transphobia and gender based oppression.
My grouping of intersex people was based on similar conversations I’ve seen from intersex people, however you are correct that I should not have phrased the statement the way that I did. I should have emphasized that there was more overlap then I did in my original bullet point, in my attempt to be brief I did not get the point I wanted to across. I should have also specified that those points were based on things I have personally experienced/seen.
as we see reprisals of Y2K skinny culture (as part of fascism) people are making a lot of posts like ‘if you’re too young to remember, it was so toxic. people shamed [skinny woman] for being fat!’ and perhaps it’s useful to bring up someone like kate winslet circa 1999 being fatshamed to express how truly dire the situation was/is but i find it increasingly frustrating that the response seems by and large to be ‘wow that’s awful! she wasn’t even fat!’ [so clearly that was wrong!] and not the real point: ‘so imagine how horrible it was for actual fat people, who also don’t deserve the far worse treatment they got/get.’
tl:dr if your response to fatphobic bullying/harrassment is “but they’re not even fat,” you have not gotten to the core issue. you haven’t even considered the core issue.
lots of people in the tags pointing out the same thing about transphobia and especially transmisogyny where instead of centering trans women in conversations about transmisogyny, it turns into defending cis women who are mistaken for trans women like “and she’s not even trans!” instead of saying “we shouldn’t treat trans women that way.” you’re not derailing you’re 100% correct
