Just saying, if Kris dies of buttercup poisoning (suicide, perhaps), it would be the saddest death in video game history, in my humble opinion.

Toby Fox has this freedom of interpretation in his games that I absolutely love and cherish, but he's not a loose or vague writer either. He doesn't leave crucial information up to you. He's the only person I can think of who does this type of writing right.

And I may be wrong, but to be fair, it's not really that impossible. In the Spamton NEO boss fight, Spamton breaks the fourth wall, acknowledging a force beyond his comprehension: Heaven. Although Spamton's character revolves around the theme of freedom, he's still bound like a puppet. If we snap all the strings in his fight, "freeing" him from the strings controlling him, he perishes at the end of the battle. Kris is left deeply unsettled—they've just witnessed what could be their own fate unfolding before them.

We know from the beginning of chapter 5 that Kris can't go on without their soul which made me believe the soul is actually theirs and we are the cage in the prophecy and Kris is the "human parts" now, these are my opinions I'm not here to theorize what could this mean , again , toby fox and his genius mystery writing.

If Kris dies they'll die painfully lonely, they'll die as the only human in town , alienated from everyone else, if Kris dies they will die scared (spamton neo ending they get goosebumps) if Kris dies they'll die full of unresolved guilt (*you can't wash it all off*) if Kris dies they will die without ever confessing their feelings to anyone and if they die their lost dream of Noelle will go with them to nothing, Kris will die a stranger, a human different from everyone around them , I love how their humanity is depicted as weird and isolate them from everyone else , making them the weird one, in a town full of all types of monsters Kris dreemurr unfairly stands out because in this world no one can choose who they are. They will die isolated with so many untold secrets. And worst of all if their secrets are exposed they'll die as a traitor.

Politicians and company owners that push for a lack of climate protection—voting and giving money to continue fossil fuel burning, denying responsibility or laws to enforce proper waste disposal (e.g. not dumping trash into the ocean), and the like—annoy me so much.

What are they doing it for? To protect their profits? Their flimsy paper bills, coins smaller than a thumb? What will they have once everything is destroyed? When the sky is choked grey and the toxic oceans rise, when extinction climbs high and habitats die for human development, when temperatures climb above anything we could bear, what will they have then?

If we fail, if the world is destroyed before us, then they will have nothing. If the world goes down in flames, their money will be the first kindling to burn.

I don't like ending on a negative note. So I won't.

The world (really just life, the rock will remain once we are all gone) being destroyed is not a when. It is not a when, it is an if. There is still hope. If I told you to give up, if I told you nothing could help, I would be a liar.

I'm also not going to say that any one person can fix everything. But a little goes a lot. Pick up litter (IF IT'S SAFE TO DO SO), reduce what you consume (like the trendiest cups or other things you'll buy and then not use or throw out shortly after), donate to charities and organizations working to help if you can.

Don't lose hope. Never lose hope. We can create a future where the concept of this is absurd. You don't have to do everything. Doing what you can is enough.

(PV will be referred to as hollow here! CW: reader has a child who I don't have a name for them at the moment. This is a short drabble.)

The faint scratchings of quill against parchment gently rouse Hollow from their slumber, drawing a soft trill out of their throat as they stretch around you.

You look up from the map, lowering your quill as they tilt their head, eyes falling curiously to the parchment in your grasp.

You carefully shift, angling the map. The ink is still wet, glistening faintly in the dim light. Hallownest is a rather vast kingdom, one you still had yet to explore and uncover its secrets. You often didn't get much time to spend with them because of this.

Hollow runs a claw over the parchment with a tilt of their head, stopping at the corner, where the words CRYSTAL PEAK are written in bold.

"The mines," You say, shifting to lean back against them, "I haven't fully explored them yet. I am hoping to collect samples if I can." There was something about rocks with you that intrigued them greatly. Like you had a way of listening to them speak, long after their voices had faded.

You adjust your collar—which earns you a soft chirp as the tiny face of the bug sleeping there emerges. The small one let's out a series of chirps and trills, as if complaining about the movement. Hollow merely tucks them back into the fabric, a hand brushing over their shell before retreating.

You fall asleep like that later that night, curled up low in the mass of blankets.

I feel like gepard would call you kitten, but not in a weird way. He just wants you to feel like part of the family, and it just feels natural to him. He may call you kit or something if kitten weirds you out. And after you get married he would try to give you a “Landau” name for his sisters to call you, but maybe isn’t thinking when he suggests “cougar.” He gets an earful after that and you both ultimately decide that “Kit” is just fine.
