The hyper invisibility of trans men needs to be studied. Why can i not hold my identity as a man and my queerness in one hand? Why am I going to be “just another man” after i transition? I understand wariness in the face of cis passing men, but it just isn’t fair to be excluded from every fucking community. Trans men in queer spaces are stripped of their queerness. Trans men in cishet spaces, especially if they don’t necessarily pass as cishet, are only seen for their queerness. It’s tiring. I saw a guy on tiktok mention this and the comments were full of people calling him a male manipulator and such. Which is insane. God forbid a queer person want to be included in queer spaces. And i’d like to remind everyone, most trans men were raised as women first. They’ve suffered under the patriarchy, they’ve had to deal with the same doctors, the same cis men, the same harassment, the same assaults. Yes, trans men are men. They’ve suffered under are also queer.
