I've had a lot of sleepless nights since the beginning of this genocide. For obvious reasons, but also because I realized just how many lies I was fed growing up. Like, pure propaganda. So many fond memories of visiting my Safta's kibbutz growing up now make me nauseas to think about. The place that lives fondly in my memories no longer exists, and I don't know if it ever did in the first place. And I also feel guilty mourning this because like... boo hoo yk? like it feels dumb and whiny to be sad about this compared to everything else that's going on and what the people in Gaza are going through. So I just feel. weird. I didn't know how else to express that aside from writing about it.
