The thing is I'm so happy these people enjoyed my fic but any of this feedback would have been so lovely to get in an actual comment so I didn't have to root around in the bookmarks on the off-chance like a little praise-seeking raccoon

I wish The Youth (or maybe just the American Youth? Difficult to tell online) would stop throwing around 'fag' (as in gay person, not as in cigarette) as casually as they do. I'm sure it's an age thing and possibly a regional thing too but god I wince every time

(also this is one of those context-is-everything linguistic quirks: as-in-cigarette feels normal and fine, gay man referring to themselves in a self-aware, reclaiming kind of way, fine, I've grown up with that.
