Why you should not upgrade to iPhone 7 and stick to iPhone 6.

Aren’t we all sick and fed up of iPhone iterations and seeing newer iPhone model only to find out they have slight design modifications, are faster, more gimmicky, better battery, camera is better so on and so forth. I used to change phones every year but last year I skipped the 6S completely as I did not feel the need to do so. Yes I did get the iPhone 7 this year but understand why I did. It was mainly because of the battery and the nice matte black finish. I am not saying iPhone 7 is not great it is but what I am really happy about at the end of the day is the long lasting battery and the beautiful Matte Black cover which by the way is a in a protective back cover :)

What I should have done in hind sight is gotten a new battery and a nice matte black cover for my iPhone 6. Yes like everyone else I love taking pictures too but the end result is more or less the same with all the filters out there. Is the iPhone 7 faster yes it is in comparison but the iPhone 6 was fast enough too and does the job done we use it mostly for. I would strongly suggest that one should change iPhones only when their is a radical design change which will be most likely next year being the 10th anniversary of Apple. 

For now you should get your iPhone 6 series fixed for any parts that are not working, get it serviced, replace it by putting in a fresh battery and invest in a nice back cover and you should be good to go. Why Apple has gone wrong with their iPhone 6 Plus "Phablet"

So saw the gorgeous iPhone 6 plus I simply could not resist how beautiful the device was in comparison to the Samsung Note 3. In a heart beat I decided to exchange it for Note 3 and took the plunge to come back to what I thought was the greatest iPhone ever built. Boy was I wrong!

No doubt the 6 plus is simply beautiful design wise, one cannot even compare it with any of the “phablets” designs out there. But the size is just too heavy and the shape is such that you simply can’t use it with 1 hand at all or even 2 hands as your arms start getting tired. I am almost 6 feet with medium sized hands and the last thing on my mind while using the Note 3 was getting my fingers and arms tired. With the size and shape of this device it’s a tedious process using the not so “revolutionary” home button to come back to the home screen again and again. You simply can’t manage it with such a heavy device. Their has to be a back button on it. iOS 8 has also just not fined tuned their OS with a 5.5 inch which is such a pity. Multi tasking is next to nil going back to the home button or double clicking to go to other areas has now become a difficult process. And why oh why their are no widgets is simply beyond explanation in this day and age. The so called widgets in today’s screen are pretty useless, why can’t they be on the lock screen adjustable and customisable as per our needs. What a waste of a beautiful display sitting on the 5.5 inch screen doing nothing. Doesn’t Apple realise that widgets have become an extremely important feature for business users.

No doubt it’s a beautiful device, graphics and display are amazing. But Apple has really not kept up with advancement of their iOS in comparison to android. Android to me is a much more practical, productive and customisable OS, iOS unfortunately has simply been left behind.

I love the Note series and I think Samsung has gotten it completely spot on with the shape, size and feel of the device. Along with the S Pen features and an advanced Android it is a no brainier to love this “phablet” and I am looking forward to exchanging the 6 plus with the Note 4. Apple has a long way to go with getting the phablet right. Apple have perfected them on the iPads no doubt about that but a lot of work has to be done on improving their iOS.

By the way my fingers are numb and my arms are tired writing this on the iPhone 6 plus. So Samsung Note series rest assured you are way ahead in the game. Apple needs to really rethink their strategy if they want to be in the “phablets” game.

Facebook promoted posts changed yet again.

Facebook has changed it's promoted posts yet again! First you spent money on fans to like your page. Once that is done when you post to these same people only 16% can be reached through them. Then Facebook came up with the "promoted posts" option where you can set your advertising rate and X dollars will make you reach X number of your own fans that you have already paid for. Now they have removed the "promoted posts" option so that you cannot even target your fans only and and now you have to target your and new fans as well. This actually kills the purpose if you can't reach your own fans. We have to keep experimenting with changing adverts. It's become a serious issue as when you start getting results from one tactic they change their adverts strategy again. What all are you guys doing with these changes?
