I have recently started watching Chinese dramas, I’ve seen like two on Netflix. The most recent one I’ve watched is well-intended love and i just have to defend it here for just one second.

Yes, i get the Yizhou’s methods of getting the girl were not totally kosher, and he definitely didn’t need to fake the medical records just to get her to fall in love with him. I agree with you guys that there is something so ethically wrong about that.

But it is so clear throughout the entire thing that he loves her so much. He would literally do anything for her. He took a bullet for her for Christ’s sake. Also, I’d just like to point out that he NEVER cheated on her while she was kidnapped. He went out and was photographed with those girl to make Nan think that he had won so he would give up Xia Lin, but he never actually cheated on her. Don’t you remember those little flashback scenes where it explained what happened after they went back to her house, or got in her car? Totally a plan.

But yes, i agree with most of you that it is a twisted and messed up show. Also, if someone wants to enlighten me on the Chinese TV culture, I’m having trouble understanding why the TV kisses are so flat, no tongue.

Just finished well intended love and to be honest, I really liked it. It didn't have any bullshit misunderstanding just to fill episodes, but they did have romantic clichés, but they were nicely done, so I really didn't mind at all. I loved every character, expect for a few that I would have liked to shoot myself, if I could *cough* An ran *cough* nan *cough*, but that all aside, I did like it. Yizhou loved Xia lin dearly and he wasn't afraid to show it, in a good way. And oh my, he could be the cutest. What Yizhou did definitely wasn't right, but they didn't just let it slip past. I think that Yizhou just didn't know how to approach a woman in that way, because all the other women threw themselves at him. He would have been to embarrassed to ask Chu Yan and Wen Li, oh poor Wen Li. Can you imagine Yizhou and Wen Li talking about how to approach a woman, before Yizhou's relationship? Hahaha, they would have maybe come up with even crazier ways to approach her.

I didn't mind the flat kisses. I was very happy to see that they kissed more than once and at the right moment in the right setting. And I don't think that a deeper kiss would have added a lot more to the scene, but I definitely wouldn't have minded. With most Asian series I have watched until now, there weren't a lot of kisses. I might have watched 40 plus episodes, each of them 45 minutes long and the main couple would have only kissed twice (absolute torture).
