Final Round, End
Alita burst into the bunker with a start, high on adrenaline and victory. burst into the bunker with a start, high on adrenaline and victory. She had won! After all these months of terror and treachery, she had finally earned her freedom. She would escape this horrific house for good!Ā Ā
Closing the bunker door behind her, she heard the lock click into place with resounding finality. That was the proof- she really had won the game. As she scanned the room, Alita noticed the wall across from the stairs was open to reveal a dimly lit tunnel. Steeling herself, Alita followed the trail of wired lights and stepped into the passageway.
āThis should lead under the Foyer, so⦠that seems about right,ā she muttered to herself. The tunnel was crudely cut into the earth, but there was more than enough room for her to walk through. It seemed to have been built with a variety of body types in mind. āI guess the killer thought even Redd or Furio could have made it to the endā¦ā
It didnāt take her long to make her way through the passage. At the end of the tunnel, a few crates were stacked on the floor, and Alita saw a wooden door embedded into the ceiling. Moving quickly, she arranged the crates so she could reach the hatch; it pushed open with ease, as if had seen recent use.
The sight of fresh green grass was intoxicating, and the open sky even more so.With great effort, Alita pulled herself up and scrambled out of the earthen passageway. āDid I do itā¦?ā
āNot quite.ā
I smile as Alita whirls on her heel, nearly falling backwards at the sight. āLana?ā she gasps. āHow did you get out? The door was locked!ā
āDid you really think that was the only exit to this place? I could have sworn you were smarter than that, Alitaā¦ā I step forward, smirking down at her. āShelly did say this place had many secrets. I suppose he was trying to give you all one last hint. It wrapped up his defection nicely, donāt you think?ā
āDefection- wait, donāt tell meā¦ā Alitaās face crumples into fear, and she points an accusing finger at me. āWeāve been working together since the beginning, and you were the real killer this whole time?ā
I laugh, full bellied. Oh, how nice it was to no longer have to keep up the stoic, perfect little prosecutor act anymore. Wiping tears away from my eyes, I unholster the gun under my jacket. One bullet had already been gifted to Miss Miney, and now it was time to wrap up the last loose end. āI do believe that was a mistake.ā
A shot rings out.
Final Round, Start
The following days passed quietly. Shellyās apparent sabbatical was taking longer than any of the houseās residents expected. He had never been a comforting presence, per say, but it was still strange not to have him underfoot at all odd hours. It felt like they had been left to fend for themselves for the first time in months, and two nights passed before someone decided to take advantage of it.
āWe should try to get out of here.ā
Alita stared at Daryan from across the parlor table. āAre you out of your mind? Why the hell would we do that?ā
āWhy the hell would we not?ā Daryan retorted. āWe finally have a chance to break out now that Shellyās not breathing down our neck, and you donāt want to take it?ā
āYou donāt know if heās still watching us somehow,ā Mimi said. āAnd what about the killer? Theyāre going to be really mad if we try to get out before the game is over.ā
āI agree with Mimi,ā Lana added, thumb between her teeth. Ā āThe killer wouldnāt just let us escape that easily. There has to be a catch somewhere.ā
Daryan slammed his hand on the table. āWhat the fuck is wrong with you guys?! What are you all so afraid of now?ā
āI just donāt want to risk things now that weāre so close to the end!ā Mimi snapped back. Despite her angered act, the other three could hear fatigue slipping into her voice.
Daryan scoffed. āSo what, you think if youāre a good little kid theyāll let you go free? Newsflash Miney, you got a Scared card too!ā His tone was strange. Something had clearly happened before he called everyone into the parlor for his announcement.
āOh, so thatās why youāre so eager to pull us all into your suicide mission,ā Alita drawled, crossing her arms. āYou know you had the worst case last round, so you want to break out before you get a knife to the back.ā
āAnd whose fault would that be?ā Daryan replied, turning a furious glare onto her. āYouāre just as much of a coward as Miney is, Tiala. Sucking up to the killer, playing right into their hands- you disgust me.ā
āYou-!ā
āGuys, please, letās just calm down!ā Lana shouted, holding her hands up in the air in a placating manner.
āDonāt even try that goody-two-shoes bullshit, Skye,ā Daryan said. āYou were so sure that Shelly was the real killer just a few weeks ago- whatās with your attitude now, huh?ā
āI was just- I didnāt want us to put too much trust in Shelly when we didnāt have all the facts,ā she stuttered, wide eyed.
Daryan stood up, pointing a finger at Lana. āIs that so? Sounds to me like something the killer would sa-ā
Suddenly, a gunshot rang out.

Murder 8 Reveal
Night fell quickly, and the four remaining guests made their way to the dining room with anticipation. Three of them were surprised to see the room empty, with only a familiar piece of paper resting on the bare table. The fourth did their best to hide a disgusted sigh.
āWhereās Shelly?ā Lana asks, a worried look crossing her face. āHe usually has dinner made by now. Who was supposed to prep with him tonight?ā
āI was,ā Alita says, crossing her arms. āBut he said he had it covered, so I went back to sleep. Is he in the kitchen?ā
Daryan peeks around the now unblocked kitchen door, scanning the room briefly. Returning to the others, he shakes his head. āNope, and the pantry and freezer look empty too. Where the hell did he go?ā
Mimi scowls at her unrepentant housemate. āAlita, why the hell did you not check on him? He could be poisoning our food!ā
Alita scoffs. āItās not a big deal. If he hasnāt tried to kill us all this time, why would he start now?ā
āYou donāt know that he isnāt the killer, Alita,ā Lana replies, frowning.
āThen thatās all the more reason to feel safe! The killer is so attached to their stupid rules, theyāre not going to kill us before the reveal letter is read, right?ā Alita snaps.
āSpeaking of thatā¦ā Daryan cuts in, eyeing the letter on the table. āWhat do we do about this? Shelly usually does this part.ā
āWell one of us needs to read it, right? Flip a coin or something and get it over with,ā Mimi grumbles.
After a brief moment of deliberation, it was decided that Alita would be the one to deliver the killerās reveal while Daryan checked to make sure she didnāt leave anything out. With the issue resolved, Alita opens the letter and begins reading aloud.

Alita Tiala has won the riddle challenge.
((im going on a plane tmro so i might not be around for awhile to discuss cases, will msg back asap))
Investigation Start
āGood morning, the world says, like, hello!ā Mimi chirps brightly. In her mirror, a happy-go-lucky smile popped on her reflected face like it was second nature.
She had made it using a piece of glass from the master bedroom, claiming that the lack of space in the houseās bathrooms were, like, messing up her vibes. Shelly allowed her to have it, but not before rounding the corners to make it as safe as possible. In Mimiās opinion, his efforts seemed pretty pointless. If anyone wanted a weapon, a simple piece of wood would do, or a spoke from one of the abandoned tents laying in the courtyard. Hell, the last murder was done with a piece of meat- was he planning on tossing all of that out too?
āGod, this is soo boring. I am so sick of this house and everyone in here!ā she whines, idly wondering who was listening and snooping around the upstairs. This was a performance after all, and Mimi prided herself on her acting skills. She doubted there was anyone in the house that really believed she was a threat- except the killer, of course. Whoever they were, they werenāt afraid of putting themselves into compromising situations. It seemed that they were always one step ahead of the game, no matter how much the others tried to anticipate their movements.
It all stressed her the hell out and reminded her of her breakdown before the whole incident that got her sent to court and then to jail. What a pain!
Sticking out here was the worst. If you were too nosy youād be called out like Daryan. If you were good at winning games people would side eye you, like with Alita. Too mouthy and no one would ever take you seriously, like that pompous Redd. She could go on forever about Deeās faux-careless attitude, or Lanaās annoying hovering or Lukeās radical thought process, but she just didnāt care!
It was too early to think.
All the deaths were starting to run together in her head. With people like Morgan and Yanni, at least theyād been around long enough to make a slight impression. Did anyone even remember that Furio guy? Or Cammy, who had a surprisingly well-stocked stash of fruity face masks? Or that ugly lawyer who was playing hangman all on his own? Who even knew.
With Mattās death, Mimi was at least now officially the most spacey one here. Like hell she would let anyone steal her handcrafted personality. It was her thing, okay? Or maybe Iniās thing, but she had been her sister so long that she had sort of forgotten who she was in the grand scheme of things. Was the occasional bitchiness her thing too, or was it Mimiās?
Oh well, it didnāt matter anyway.
āWakey wakey, eggs and bakey,ā she mumbles under her breath, deciding to go with that one today. It was already a little past 11 AM when she had ventured out of her room.
