Just woke up from a literal fever dream anthology horror style where Kate Micucci played an investigator that no one took seriously. The story she tells is of a nuclear 1950s family expecting their second child is body swapped with a family of aquatic aliens. As they are packing their things for the hospital, the baby arrives early and the alien family use that time to begin the swap. But the nuclear family aren’t freaked out at all and propose a mutually beneficial arrangement where all of them live together, the alien family posing as the human family. They helped take care of their children together and they all lived in peace going to work for each other or attending pta meetings.

Is this a thing that already exists bc it feels like some Kate Micucci would play in.

With all this AI stuff, I think I have come to a realization. The people who truly don’t care if art or music is AI generated are people who don’t have a true appreciation or reverence for human labor.

These people don’t care if what they see or hear, consume, is fake; all they care about is a product, a product to mindlessly consume. These people have an ever-hungering maw in the pit of their souls that will never be sated. They don’t want to feel deeply; they don’t want to feel at all. They want to escape the very question we were placed here to answer: What does it mean to be human? They surrender themselves to the never ending cycle of work-consume-work-consume without having the desire to put their oar against the current and paddle to the shore of intention, lest they strain their muscles with foreign and uncomfortable effort. They have no desire to improve themselves or add to their relationships; they consume bits of people’s souls the same way they consume content- mindlessly, with no desire to add, only to numb their emptiness. They don’t help others paddle out of the maelstrom, but chastise them for not letting the current pull them under alongside them, the idea of wanting a life full of meaning and intention utterly fathomless.

I feel sorrow for these kinds of people, and anger when they grab my boat to pull it in the water with them. I gladly shove them off, but offer a hand to be pulled out. It’s beautiful here, to live intentionally. To let the whimsy and vibrancy in and seek out joy like a human should.

Something that makes me so angry was how math was used as deterrent for career aspirations for elementary school aged children.

Math is a learned skill just like anything else. You get better at it when you practice it and use in practical application. The math you use every day is the math you get good at. You learn as you go along. Stop deterring kids from their dreams by using their least favorite subject in school as a boogie man.
