Ever think about how Eliot is known - widely known, globally known - for violence? That he's killed and maimed countless people, sometimes with his bare hands? That hardened criminals, assassins, hear his name and are afraid? Ever think about how it must feel to have someone like Parker, who is fully aware of his past and everything he's capable of, get in his space and physically tease him and put stupid hats on his head like he's her own giant dress-up doll, with zero fear, zero hesitation? To be on the receiving end of that bone-deep trust, where it never even seems to occur to her that poking the beast could be dangerous?
I think about it a lot.
#i also think about the way Eliot yells at Parker and Hardison sometimes#because! he's so controlled! so soft-spoken! with everyone#because he knows he IS scary and dangerous. he keeps his demeanor so mild to put people at ease#but when Parker and Hardison get under his skin he shouts at them and shows his irritation#as if HE is trusting THEM to know that his anger will never ever come with violence. that he is never a threat to them.#he can let his guard down. he can be human. and cranky. and imperfect. he can be teased like a regular person.#i just wonder how it feels. to be seen as lovable and funny and playful and safe.#to be seen as a man after so many years of only being a weapon. Look, I have nothing against my older gifs still gaining notes - I honestly love it! BUT, this was my second ever leverage gif, and lets just say that it's just not up to par when compared to my current stuff. So, here you all are, a new improved version of this gif!
Sometimes you can tell when a fandom has been starved for new input for too long because you can make an objectively mid text post like “hey guys, I like a scene in this show” and it gets 600 notes.
a canceled tv show is a kind of dead wife
watching youtube compilations like a grieving husband watching old videos of my dead wife
abandoned diptych from march last year ✨
+ the quick warm up :)
i cant leave a painting alone for more than three days otherwise ill never finish it lol
gabi mosely in every episode ☆ pilot
polyamory was invented in 1969 by kirk, spock, and mccoy, and their only true successors are the leverage ot3 and whatever the fuck psych had going on
the beauty of early 2000s shows is that they just... stuck to the bit. You watch this show to see a neurodiverent man solve crime with his best friend, you will get that for 8 seasons. We said this show would be about an ex-spy and his employer who built an AI and the people they save. They will do it even when they admit in the show it makes no sense because that's what you signed up for. Leverage commited so much that they got a modern version that still does the same thing instead of being 6 episode seasons about one big con.
I miss "filler" episodes, but they aren't filler because that's what you signed up for! that's why you watch the show! to see them do the thing you started watching the show for!
Having aesthetic attraction to a character without a trace of any romantic or sexual feelings attached is so strange
It's like there's a guy (gn) on my screen. I like how he looks and the way he moves. I don't want to have sex with him, I don't imagine myself dating him or something of that sort. There's no physical reaction at all.
But there's this ephemeral urge to, I don't know, simultaneously gnaw on him like a bone, study him under a microscope, encase him in chrome and put in my living room, and watch him do the same gesture that ticked me on a loop for approximately three million times?
Does that make sense??
since yall (me) love the man so much
Forever love Dark Matter for saying that yes, the evil road is the easy road.
It’s easy to turn a blind eye and side with the GA instead of taking a stand. It’s easy to ruthlessly kill everyone in your path to the throne. It’s easier to avenge your dead wife than befriend the man who killed her. It’s easier to lead with fear than actually be a leader. It’s easier to go it alone, and not care who gets hurt.
But the show says that’s so fucking boring. ‘Oh you hate everyone and kill anyone’. skill issue. This crew is 10x more dysfunctional and they’re not perfect but they’re trying.
It’s all about the struggle to be good vs. the allure of easy evil and its awesome.
Being better is so much harder, but you gotta try.
You know that's right 😏
I love how Leverage went
Here's the cat burglar. She wears comfy clothes and has zero social skills. She has sex appeal but only if you're into a very specific type of woman, and crucially she has zero idea she has it. She probably doesn't know what an innuendo is.
Here's the hacker. He's a Black nerd, and also the most moral character of the bunch. He's a nerd but also not socially awkward; in fact, he's the second best at grifting, right after the person who's been doing it for decades.
Here's the muscle. In his heart of hearts, he is a chef. He is tough and manly but he uses that to look out for the working class and children and everyone else the system leaves behind. He's feared by politicians and he reminds his friend to tip the delivery person.
Here's the femme fatale. She's over forty years old, and she's the one seducing the mark. She's the heart of the team. Her calling is to be a director. She loves attending her own funeral.
Here's the mastermind. He's the only one who doesn't start out as a career criminal. He manipulates his own crew, kills two people after promising them he won't, and takes deals behind their back. He was in seminary school.
Also, here's their nemesis. He's Mark Sheppard.
Eliot and Parker's conversation about morality and them being able to do tougher things than the rest of the crew in that one ice climbing episode actually means so much to me u don't understand
the man himself
Dark Matter (2015) // S03xE01
I've probably watched too much Leverage, because a man in campus cop uniform came in to ask questions about our box office safe today and my boss let him in and gave him all the info he wanted, no questions asked, and all I could think is that we are horrifically easy to con
Yes, guy with a toolbelt who says he's the plumber here to fix our known leak, please have unrestricted access to our basement directly below the box office.
If this were Leverage he would be drilling through the floor right now
Maybe he is? Have you checked?
No, although I did check the organizational ID of the British woman who came in to do a last minute film shoot on the second floor, bringing with her an equipment cart large enough to hide a person in.
So it turns out that there is, indeed, money missing from the safe.
