So up until now, I'm left hanging after watching the 41st MMFF Best Picture 'Walang Forever'. I'm not good at criticizing movies especially the festival film entries since this is the only one I have watched. But still, let me share to you my thoughts about this movie. For me, it's greatest asset is it's story. As I watch the trailer, I thought it's only a feel-good romantic comedy movie which Pinoys usually watch. But NO (emphasizes with capitalization), it's not. While watching, you'll gonna find yourself grin because of kilig, laugh because of it's comedy skits, and cry to sum it up all. I never thought the whole film will make you emotions turn from one to another, even with just a second! The casts we're also great. Jennylyn Mercado and Jericho Rosales was brilliant. They're amazing! As far as I know, they're just replacements to the original lead casts, Judy Ann Santos and Dingdong Dantes/JM De Guzman, but I can't see anybody to play their respective roles but them. Both of them act naturally where you'll think it happens in real life. The addition of Ms. Lorna Tolentino is such a big complement to the story. The supporting casts add flavors to the picture, and you could even say they also deserve awards like the leads! Kim Molina, Jerald Napoles, Juan Miguel Severo, and others were also excellent for their roles. The cameos of newbies were also great, maybe a great start for them for their stardom. Yana Asistio, Yves Flores, Michelle Vito, Jon Lucas, Sofia Andres, Jules Estrada, the "Prinsesa at Prinsipe ng Masa" Melai and Jason Francisco and unexpectedly Maja Salvador and Derek Ramsay who were past loveteams of the lead, came to be the surprises of the film. The musical score's brilliance was also spot-on. Unaging 'You' of Mr. Basil Valdez gave a big justice to the movie. Also, the presence of Ebe Dancel helped the movie and vice versa. After breaking up to Sugarfree, he became an under-rated star with such great music. The feels after hearing his 'Bawat Daan' performance in a scene in the movie, will make you look for it's title, lyrics and chords after watching. It's definitely great! It's a whirlwind romance. A real-life romance. A true-to-life kind of romance. Maybe that's the reason why it became a huge hit (tho unlike My Bebe Love and Beauty and the Bestie) even they don't have aired any trailers on the national television. The Best Picture award were given to them and I think the credits should also be given to 'Hugot King' Dan Villegas' who have made 'English Only Please', 'That Thing Called Tadhana' and 'The Breakup Playlist' together with Antoinette Jadaone and their team. As a fan of Popoy and Basha's love story from 'One More Chance' to 'A Second Chance', it hurts to admit someone stole their place in my heart as the 'All Time Favorite Filipino Movie'. It was only Mia Nolasco and Ethan Isaac who could break my heart just like them but Jennylyn and Jericho's movie I must say, is a masterpiece. Husay! ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
