I'm torn between finding this endearing and a little bit unsettling. On the one hand I do love the idea of living with 'my one true love' forever. On the other...who are you? Let's just set that straight and then we can talk about planning our future.

I love protective vibes! I'm feeling "I know you don't need my help, but I'm offering it anyway" from my Connor
Or "Thank you, but I'll be alright." If protective markus is more your speed

(For some reason it’s not letting me tag your RP blog. I wonder if it’s because you don’t have any posts yet. Hopefully that will change once we start RPing and you make some posts from there.)
Markus tried to convince Connor he didn’t need his protection. It was just another public statement on android rights. He’d done it before and been just fine, despite the possibility of threats. All he had to do was restate that androids and humans were working together now and there was no hostility from androids so long as humans let them have their freedom and gave them the same treatment any human was entitled to of basic respect. Tensions had gotten high recently with anti-android protestors on the rise once more and deviant androids getting restless about all the backlash.
So, all Markus had to do was remind the humans that they were all on the same side and everything would be alright if they worked together rather than against each other. It was tedious, but not the first time he’d had to do it since the revolution had ended. It was nothing more than a quick public statement, so Markus didn’t understand why Connor was so insistent on being there to protect him.
“I know you don’t need my help, but I’m offering it anyway.” Connor looked him dead in the eye while saying it. All Markus could do was sigh through his nose. When he put it that way, it was hard to say no.
“Alright. You can come and keep an eye out for me. But I really can handle myself, Connor. You know that. Besides, chances are, nothing is going to happen anyways,” Markus tried to counter. “It’s just a bunch of humans asking for reassurances. All I have to do is say my piece and then be on my way. It’s not even a full interview.”
the-mind-of-xelyn
Perhaps Connor thought he hadn’t noticed the quiet hesitancy in the way his smile faltered. That Markus was oblivious to the familiar feeling of sorrow that hung heavy in the air when someone was too afraid to let themselves be vulnerable. He knew what it felt like because he’d been there himself.
There was a time when he thought he couldn’t afford to be vulnerable, because he had to be strong for his people. But then he realized that being vulnerable was being strong. He had to bare his heart to show people that he was like them and to establish empathy. Because the true and hidden strength of humanity was the vulnerability and compassion that so many were too afraid to show. So he had to be the first.
But he knew the anxiety of putting yourself out there where anyone could take that strength and turn it against you. He could recognize it in Connor now. He could see the struggle, and sighed when he could see Connor shoving his heart down instead of wearing it on his sleeve.
Part of Markus hurt to think that Connor felt he couldn’t be vulnerable with him, someone that would never hurt him and would listen and support him no matter what. But part of him understood why it was difficult for Connor. He just wanted to reassure him.
“I appreciate that Connor. I know there’s a part of you that might feel responsible for the hardships we had to go through. But please know that I don’t blame you. We all - all of us - had orders we had to follow. There was a time when none of us had a choice. You were no exception, and neither was I. What matters is that you did finally make a choice, and it was the right one.” Perhaps Markus was being too forward and his words were too forceful in bringing Connor out of his shell. But subtlety never was Markus’ strong suit. He only hoped it wouldn’t chase him further away.
“I said it once before, and I’ll say it a thousand times more if it’s what you need to hear. But you’re one of us, Connor. We need you. We’re grateful for you. I’m proud to call you my friend.” He gave Connor’s shoulder a light shake before letting his hand slide off. “Please don’t forget that.”
It was no surprise to the entirety of Detroit, the sort of sway Markus carried with him. Sometimes it almost seemed effortless, the way he could rally people behind him. When he spoke, people listened, and they believed. Now was no different. He just had that affect on people. It was his call to action that became the last straw on the Camel’s back. Connor owes his life, better said- his freedom to many people. The largest of his debts split two ways, to Hank for giving him a home and to Markus for offering trust.
This should have put him at ease. Every logical part of him said that listening to Markus offer heartfelt assurances was supposed to make him feel better. It normally always did. Whenever Connor was overthinking in any other situation, and Markus was there to put an end to it with all of his determination and a well of patience, Connor’s responses were bigger than this. His cheeks would flush and he’d stammer acknowledgments, or he’d offer a cheek splitting smile and put a spring in his step but this unease and guilt really dug itself into Connor’s being. Maybe it was the emotional weight that seemed to be lingering in the air that didn’t let him pull this thorn out until Connor had said something in exchange for everything Markus was currently giving him. Something real.
“Thank you. For believing in me. For trusting me. For finding a friend in me. I can promise you that there isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t remember how fortunate I am to have that.” With the contact that he’d been using as a sort of anchor, he has to find stability somewhere else. Connor’s arms fold in front of his chest, fingers pulling at the fabric of his sleeves. Despite this, he’s found that something. That push he’d been searching for is found, because now Connor is reminded that Markus wouldn’t think any less of him just because he had unreasonable fears. He had no reason to be nervous, or embarrassed. Markus wasn’t going to dump Connor at the next stop no matter what he said.
“Maybe that’s part of the problem. But that isn’t right either. Your friendship isn’t a problem. I just- “ He struggles to find the words. Markus made it look easy but he made everything look that way. “Maybe I don’t feel I’ve earned it yet. You’ve done so much for me. I owe you. I don’t know when it’ll stop feeling that way, but I do. I couldn’t see that I was being used and I wrestle with that a lot- because I was supposed to be capable of that, but you have never stopped being there for me despite that. I need to make sure I can give back what I took.”

- alive-and-free
Kelli eyed the android, already put off at recognizing him as a detective model. No, as the prototype her scans told her. This was Connor. Letting her wariness at his presence turn to anger, she let the insults fly,"Your suits are bland, your shoes look too tight, and you always make faces that suggest there's a dick in your ass,"she takes a step closer, feeling a little more bold,"You always look seconds away from blowing that drunk fuck, your choice in men is poor at best. You're a grown man and all people see is a puppy."
Connor knew not to expect something 'normal' while on a red ice trail but this was another beast altogether. Suspects were usually combative but never this direct. He finds himself straightening out his suit, shifting the weight on his feet and making one of the faces he's oh so guilty of. Lips part and then close as he fails to find a proper response.
His head tilts to the side, confused and probably not helping the puppy case. This perceived human was certainly holding no bars. Despite a burning need to defend Hank, he first tries to diffuse the tension.
"How can you tell my shoes are too tight?" He does his best to leave it at that, but the conscience he'd been wrestling with for some time now just won't let him. "And I happen to think the men I surround myself with are exemplary."
Kelli wasn't at all happy to have a cop knocking on her door, especially such a high profile one. She knew exactly who this guy was, even without having to scan him. Connor had made quite a name for himself. Not just because of the Revolution, but also because the woman had tried to stay under his radar once he'd gotten too close for comfort. As a dealer she was bound to come into contact with him eventually, she'd counted on it. She was prepared.
Granted, she had nothing to worry about. All her equipment was at her shop. He wouldn’t find anything here that'd incriminate her. As for the thirium in her fridge...it'd be easy to say she kept it for friends. Not that he'd have a reason to snoop through her fridge.
When he asked about his shoes, Kelli just smirked,"Lucky guess,"she proudly admitted, in response to his comment about men she added,"Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night. Now what the fuck are you doing at my house? I'm a busy woman, you know."
Connor is still fighting the urge to defend the people who've been attacked at his expense. The slightest hint of anger flashes across his features but he's quick to snuff it out. He was on the job here, and he has to first try and be to the point and professional before he can start trying some other approach.
"I heard talk of a dealer operating in this neighborhood. A pretty well known one, actually. I was wondering if maybe you could answer a few questions?" He doesn't really wait for a response. Chances are, if he did, he would be shut down on the spot. Instead he tries to peek into the house- discretely of course. He's scanning for any signs of a disturbance as he speaks. "While we're on the topic of shoes, there is a bit of foot traffic around your place. Lot of friends?"
(I don't know how this would work context wise but)

She was just on a break. The rare day off from work. She expected to sleep in, but apparently someone had other plans. And for a moment, Rachel panicked, fearful that someone had broken in. Someone specific. Why didn’t Bear bark? Was he okay?
But then knocking on her door and peeking his head in was a familiar face. A welcome one. Letting out a relaxed sigh of relief, the detective motioned for the android to come in. “Hey, Connor…I didn’t expect you to come in. I thought you were supposed to be working.”
However, even a cursory whiff of the air seemed to give away the purpose of this visit. He was providing her breakfast in bed. That was so…thoughtful. And sweet. She couldn’t help but melt a little bit at the gesture, even though she was wondering how the fuck he managed to get into her house without alerting the dog or the neighbours.
She’d have to have a chat with him about that.
“Thank you, for this. This was really nice of you to do for me.”
alive-and-free:
Connor always waited for moments like this. When he was relatively free to provide for others. He liked to be busy, and being busy helping people he cared for was doubly rewarding. It took burning the candle at both ends and taking shifts that weren’t exactly advisable but he made enough headway on his caseload that he could stand to move his schedule around a little more. This is what he chose to do with his time. Breaking into a friend’s home in order to cook breakfast.
He’d caught wind of the fact that it was Rachel’s day off today somewhere, the details were fuzzy. It was probably Hank. It was however, proper observation that led him to the spare key he used to get in. Connor had briefly considered the window but he remembered how upset Hank had seemed about that when He’d done it. Using a key, returning it to it’s place and locking the door once again seemed at least less invasive from the right angle.
He did almost allow himself to get distracted by Bear, who he had to greet the second he was in the door. Eventually though, he did pull himself away and found his way around the kitchen. He made a simple breakfast so he could avoid making a mess or using too much. Bacon and an omellete worked.
Once he’d finished, he walked quietly toward what he remembered being Rachel’s bedroom. With a glance at his watch to make sure he wasn’t waking her too early, he knocks, cracking the door open and peeking through only enough so that he could still leave If asked.
“I’m technically on call but I figured I could pop in while I am.” He walks in, tray in hand as he heads for the door. His eyes were on the food as he did, had he made too much? He was always terrible at figuring out portions. “I heard you had off today and what better day for breakfast in bed.”
His smile is a little nervous. Rachel was somewhat hard to read. She was greatful for the most part, that he could tell but he just couldn’t get rid of that pesky anxiety. He hands her the tray and takes a few steps back. He stands, unsure of how exactly to proceed. At his home it was always clear cut what he could or couldn’t do, this wasn’t quite the same. “Of course. Honestly, you deserve it. It is the least I could do - well not technically but that’s the saying.”
Connor was lucky that it was a cold night and that meant Rachel was actually wearing pajamas. She wasn’t sure what she’d do if he’d caught her sleeping without any. She would probably feel quite flustered.
But in any case, his presence was welcome and she was glad to be spared from the anxiety of having to prepare her breakfast. Granted, she typically avoided food prep, especially in the morning, with something simple like cereal or just a bagel. Having that extra weight taken off was comforting. It made her feel freer. She hated how much small simple everyday tasks weighed her down so much, so to have Connor take care of that small thing for her was much appreciated.
His affectionate and friendly words only made her feel warmer inside. Honestly…the company was just nice. The thought of…well, being thought of was nice. This was all just…nice. So, sitting up, she took the tray and set it in her lap, glancing up at the android. “That’s really sweet of you to say.” She offered, smiling at him. “Thank you, Connor. You didn’t have to do this for me.”
Connor relaxes the second that he sees her reaction. He'd done good, she seemed at ease, and greatful. That was his goal. To busy himself with providing with people he cared for. He and Rachel didn't spend very much quality time together but she was important. A coworker whom he'd come to find comfort in.
She worked herself harder than most people. Maybe not most people at the precinct, most of them had an admirable work ethic, but most others. As such, he'd hoped this would be the first of many small acts of charity he can offer her so as to lighten her load. It made his considerably heavier but he liked it that way. Connor liked to be busy.
"Really. It's no trouble. I *wanted* to do this." He smiles, hands held in front of him. It was also so rewarding, to want and have full unfiltered understanding of what that meant. He also *wanted* to sit down right now but was that appropriate? His internal debate presented itself in usual Connor fashion. His brows crinkle together again as he looks toward the bed and Rachel.
"Should I sit? Or- do I just let you have your meal in peace?" He tries not to sound as if he has a preference either way but he hasn't made a move for the door and despite trying to sound neutral he doesn't. He doesn't particularly know what to do otherwise
"Here let me help you with that." @alive-and-free
Willow whirled around, startled by the other android. They'd been so busy trying to get their switchblade out of the tree it was currently stuck in that the smaller android had failed to notice his approach. Cautiously, they stepped out of the way, making sure there was plenty of room to run just in case he wasn't as nice as he seemed,"I was trying to practice throwing it..." they quietly explained,"but it's stuck now..."
Earlier Willow had been happy when they'd gotten the damn thing to stick. Despite days of practice it had always bounced off it's targets, if it didn't miss them entirely. It didn't occur to the android that a huge part of that was because the knife wasn't built for throwing. Though their aim was also a huge problem too, not to mention how horrid their technique was.
For Connor, this was meant to be another night of quiet contemplation. He liked to take walks during the night. His aversion to the stasis state and the quiet of the night time basically called for it. The stars were always nice to watch too. It had become one of Connor's favorite passtimes now that he was allowed whatever freetime he could scrounge up. They were beautiful, a constant and they could live as long as androids could so they could be constant companions.
His fascination with the sky had almost made it so that Connor missed the minor commotion happening nearby. Almost. He was slow in his approach, careful. Connor had considered not approaching. A mystery android throwing 'non-throwing' throwing knives at a tree in the dead of night was perhaps not the most safe sounding option, but Connor was a curious man and a compassionate one. He makes sure his tone is as gentle as his approach, "Here, let me help you."
He's walking up toward the tree more than he is to the android. It doesn't take a genius to notice that they are being cautious, and they should he. Connor is just as much a mysterious stranger out at night as they are. "Well throwing something like this can be a little difficult," he chuckles, unable to help the gentle teasing as his eyes now wander toward the impractical throwing instrument.
"I'll retrieve it for you if you'd allow?" But he's reaching for the thing before he even gets a concrete answer. It isn't until he's pushing himself up onto his tiptoes and looking a bit of a fool that he realizes he's forgotten to do the very thing that he used to do at the top of every conversation. "I'm Connor, by the way." He says as he stops and pre-constructs the most optimal way to retrieve this thing. It was really lodged in there and he'd hate to damage it. For whatever poor technique may have been used, there was an impressive amount of force behind it.
Willow nodded as the taller android reached for the knife they'd been having so much trouble retrieving. His comment making them feel the slightest bit embarrassed,"I...I got it to stick this time at least..." they mumbled, sounding just slightly defensive, "I couldn't get it to before..."
At the mention of his name, Willow nodded again,"That's a nice name," they didn't think to share their name. The smaller android was too busy trying to think of where they'd heard that name before, their LED spinning yellow as they thought,"I hear people at New Jericho mention a Connor a lot...is it you?"
They'd heard it in passing, never really paying attention to what was being said. Now they wish they had. Looking a little more apprehensive, Willow spoke again,"Y-you're not dangerous are you?" Their eyes flitted in between Connor and the knife, wondering if they should make a run for it.
Connor's gentle smile brightens at the android's response. He does admittedly feel a little guilty to have flustered them to the point if being defensive though, and for that he should apologize. Right? When he does finally make that decision, his words don't sound as certain as they usually do. "Oh! I'm sorry I was only trying to joke! You did very good. It's- well it's pretty stuck." He huffs, fingers still not quite reaching where he wanted them to.
After a little more effort he does finally pry it free. His unshakable optimism is finally shaken though, when he catches a glimpse of that flicker of fear. It was warranted, Connor couldn't exactly find himself personally offended but that didn't mean it didn't make him feel bad. Should he go? He'd hate to bring discomfort on a stranger- especially one with a knife. That was just asking for disaster. Still, he had to stay until he'd returned the thing, so he holds the silver blade in his hand so that the handle was out toward the still nameless android.
"That is me, yes." Connor does often forget how his reputation preceeded him. Now was no different. Knowing people had heard of him always made the android uneasy. Nowadays most of the things circulated about him were good, usually about the things he had done to help New Jericho. That didn't mean there wasn't a chance that the rumors that were heard were instead about his time as a deviant hunter. Upon being asked if he was dangerous, it almost seemed like his fears were correct.
His smile falls, and the bright enthusiasm in his eyes is replaced with worry. He really should go. Reflexively his hand tightens on the blade that still hasn't been taken from his hand, he has to make a conscious effort to relax so that he doesn't accidentally puncture skin. "I would like to think I'm not dangerous. I'm sorry for anything you may have heard."

Hoping to be able to respond to things tommorrow y'all. I'm so TIRED
Might be VERY low activity these next few days. I'm so sorry y'all! School is kicking my ass.
Ok, here's a random munday ask. Let's say you've been a bad girl. Let's say, hypothetically, you've been a naughty girl even. Ok, and if you were a naughty girl, you would be my dirty little slut right? Then hypothetically speaking, you would be my little cumslut. Now, let's say you're also daddy's girl.
Now that we have established that you are both a bad girl and daddy's girl, I believe you'd agree with me when I say that you deserve a spanking. Am I not correct? A bad girl deserves a spanking, and as I am daddy, you are my girl, so I am the one who must provide punishment.
You're not fooling me, Shapiro. Not today.
I hate that I can hear it. This is simultaneously the best and worst thing. I needed a good laugh, thank you!
What songs do you listen to when wanting to get into the mood of roleplaying?
I usually have a character Playlist for the specific character BUT I have a lot of trouble finding things for Connor. He's not actually my go to dbh muse so I still have a lot to work on for this one.
I do have a "writing feels" Playlist just to get in the general mood when a character one isn't ready. The go to's on that list is "Achillies come down" by Gang of Youths and "Constellations" by the Oh Hellos.
Feet.
"Well. Most biped have them. It's funny you know, how murky the classification is sometimes? By definition, only people and pieces of furniture have feet but what's stopping us from calling paws and hooves this? They're below the ankle. On the leg, are walked on. -sorry. What were you saying?"
BUZZ LOOK AN ALIEN
Connor looks around despite the confusion. He was looking for whoever Buzz might be, or any sign of this supposed alien. "Oh. Me. No. I'm Connor! Is there aliens?"
