Ah, it's been ages since I've posted a live article.
As time has gone by seemingly quickly, there is much to catch up on of course. Starting with hello, I hope you are well! If you want to chat please, let's. Send me a message on my contact page, leave a comment here or even a little note on my instagram or a pm on twitter! Do not hesitate :)
Gosh where to begin? I think my last serious blog update was about a year ago or so. Phew.
I've moved about three times since then {#typical}, but have finally settled into my own little abode and aquired the sweetest little kitty companion. This decision to ground myself and avoid constant travel for a while has been lifechanging and quite a learning experience unlike anything ever before. I feel total "suburbia" or something {okay not quite.} But seriously, this way of life feels pretty standard "American normal" and that is something I never, ever sought to attain. It's actually been sort of "scary" in a way and has zapped some of my well being, creativity and personality. I think a vital learning experience for the best. I do look forward to the next phase of my life where I bring more adventures to life. Including *thank goodness* a trip to Manhattan this week.
I've switched around my income platforms a few times and am thrilled to announce the re-launch of my Etsy store this week. For years and years I've had an affinity towards vintage decor and clothing and ancient little treasures of sorts. Literally this deep regard of these concepts has followed me around between my grandparents, immediate family and friends' families and has always been pulling at my heart. It's taken years and years but I'm finally opening up to the idea of truly sharing this passion with the globe. Hopefully this will be a *you're welcome* kind of situation that we all find mutually beneficial. There's a big shoot coming up this week from items I've sourced from around the world... be ready for more details on Wednesday.
My foot recently broke. That was sad and somehow universally purposeful. The injury occured just before my first time truly covering NYFW all on my own. The timing couldn't have been more perfect and instead of thriving on lavish fabrics and cocktails in New York City, I was apartment ridden surviving on crutches and pain medications. What a bizarre twist of events. Through that I've had to slow my work load and had the time to really refocus on my dreams. I went from working about 50 hours a week to like barely 20 which was so relieving for my mind, body and soul, although financially and mentally challenging for sure. I've re-prioritized heavily. I discovered Gabby Bernstein's spiritual goodness. Meditated and began a new healthful routine. Started cooking at home again, experimenting in the kitchen. Sewing!! Designing, studying, truly breathing and enjoying and uplifting the basic things in life. Like friendships and love.
Over the holidays my best friend and I road tripped across the US which was so, so incredible. We learned so much; I will share with you in another post.
As for my various other interests and career paths, more explanation is to come. This video explains, validates and excites me like so perfectly regarding all of the above. I happened upon it this morning in my inbox and *how fitting* it is. No doubt it would be for you too, especially if you're a determined female.
Anyways to recap, I have learned that wild life situations come and go, and regardless, you've got to stay on your path. So here I am, on my path. I hope you have found yours, are on it and come back to it even when you stray for a bit. {Sort of like I did here, with this little blog of mine.}
