As It Was By Harry Styles Theory
Hey guys! This is my first post here. I decided to kick off this blog by doing an analysis of Harry Styles’ new song and music video, Larry edition, in honor of this song just coming out. If you don’t like Larry, kindly leave this post and don’t send me any hate. You guys can send me nice comments and questions. First, let’s go over the lyrics.

Seems you cannot be replaced I have seen a theory online that says that the “We Made It” Director’s Cut video relates to these lyrics. The theory says that this lyric is about Louis’ decision to extend his contract with Simon Cowell. If you are a Larry you know how many people think he mistreated the 1D boys. Harry didn’t want Louis to extend his contract and keep working with Simon, but Louis said he had to.

What kind of pills are you on?" I have a theory. I think Louis is the blue pill and Harry is the red one. This makes sense because in the music video Harry is wearing a red outfit and the woman (representing Louis) is wearing a blue outfit. Blue represents Louis because his eyes are blue. Harry also wore red because that is Louis’ favorite color.

Leave America, two kids follow her He could be talking about Olivia Wilde (supposedly Harry’s girlfriend) leaving America to go visit him in the UK and bringing her kids but I don’t know.

Another theory I have seen online is this song is about Harry’s PR relationship with Olivia. That is why he is happy at the end of the music video. He is free.
OK, let’s start from the beginning of the video and analyze it.
Harry is blurry at the beginning of the video. I think that symbolizes him not knowing who he is.
Then the video comes more into focus. That symbolizes Harry discovering himself and finding out who he really is.
In this scene Harry is walking backwards. Maybe this represents him having doubts about who he is.
This man looks very suspicious. I don’t know how the editors or Harry missed that man. He must be there on purpose. Maybe it is Louis or it represents Louis.
Then Harry changes into a red tank top and pants and starts walking on a circular turn table thing (I don’t really know what to call it) with a woman. He then hugs her. It kind of reminds me of this.
Since the girl represents Louis, I think Harry is either trying to protect her (Louis) from something or trying to keep Louis from running away from him (because their solo careers are pulling them in different directions).
When the woman falls off the turn table thing, it’s like their relationship didn’t work out.
I got this idea from a theory I saw online. What if the 5 people represent the 5 1D boys? Harry is in red, Louis is in blue, Niall is the guy in the very back, Zayn is the guy with the brown trench coat and Liam is the other girl. They are all taking off their clothes to show the pressure is off of them now that they went solo.
The cages mean that Harry and Louis are trapped by something (probably their old contracts).
I think the blonde girl represents Olivia. Since she appears when the cages are there, this scene could represent Harry being forced to be with her even though he doesn’t want to.
This picture of Harry reaching out for the woman kind of reminds me of this picture of Harry and Louis’ hands.
