Gifts to friends for Winters Veil
His night in Stormwind drew to a close indeed.
After his fight with Skavannah, Rakshi made his way all the way back to his hideout in Highmountain. After brushing himself up and cleaning himself up from the “fight” the paladin had, there was still one thing left on his mind.
His gaze shot over to his desk in the corner, on it rested the gift he meant to give to the paladin. He felt stupid for not giving it to her after their meeting back in the city, it didn’t matter though. The look she gave him when he told her he had gotten a gift for her was all the hunter needed to brighten his spirits.
“It’s the though that counts right?” He asked his companion Shadow and the cat just looked at his master snorting and shaking his head.
Rakshi chuckled in agreement and nodded his head.
There was still one last duty he had to do before the night would be a close.
After setting his pack back his desk and easing himself into his chair, he pulled out a sack. After dumping it out, out fell some interesting, well crafted trinkets. Who the trinkets were made by was anybody’s guess. They were made by friends for friends. People who the hunter trusted and respected and he knew he would get straight to work sending them off to who deserved them. And as his eagles remained perched and ready to send them off, the hunter smiled to himself and nodded as he began wrapping the gifts up and writing letters.
The first gift would go to the one and only Captain Killian Essex. Captain of the Black Maw and a pirate that Rakshi had met during his travels. The gift was simple. A pistol, not much different from Rakshi’s pistol Bolt with the letter “R” engraved into its handle. Rakshi thought it would be kind of silly, knowing Killian, the man probably had more pistols then one could ever dream, given his profession. Again though, the hunter thought it be nice to give something to the man and as he pulled out his pen and a parchment, he got to work writing his letter.
I hope this letter reaches you swiftly sir. I apologize for the absence I have given you over the past few weeks. Obviously your thoughts must be not good on me right now. I understand. Some things took their toll and I have to take a leave of absence from the city. If there has been trouble for the crew regarding myself, I do apologize. Right now, I am working on finding my back as soon as possible. I’m sure Shade must’ve told you that she hasn’t seen me either. I don’t want her to. The leave I have taken is my own and I wish to be my own sir.
As for Shade? I hope she is working hard and not giving you any trouble at all. The young girl definitely has some fire in her and I am definitely proud of meeting her and bringing into the organization that you have offered us.
Until next time Captain, take care of yourself and enjoy the gift I have made for you.
The next gift, probably the “craftiest” one of them all was a crystal. No ordinary crystal though, no no. The crystal itself was crafted by elves and made with magic by elves. The magic that rested inside of it would be magic that only the one who wore it around their neck would see. Not even the hunter himself knew what magic rested inside of it. He smiled to himself and nodded, knowing who ever was going to receive this would love it for sure and there was only one person in particular who deserved it.
I hope this letter and the gift inside of it reaches you safely. It has been awhile since you I had spoken since our…“tango” in Dalaran. The gift inside is a strange one but one I’m sure you will appreciate. The magic inside, I can not understand. I’m sure you though. Knowing how knowledgeable you are will one day find out its properties and its purpose.
Until next time my friend, safe travels and a Happy Winter’s Veil.
His third gift. A gift made only for a queen of the wilds. Was a cross bow, shaped to look like a rifle. This was none of the trinkets that rested on his desk. This gift already rested on the bed in his home and as the hunter eyed it carefully. He nodded to himself and wrote the letter to his one and only mate, Vivian.
It has been weeks since I have last heard from you. I hope all is well and you and Lokie are both safe. Our home in Highmoutain is looking rather stunning. It’s a shame that you are not here to share in its beauty with me.
I know you have things to deal with and I am watching it with all my strength while waiting until you get back.
The gift that lies before you is a gift that I have specifically for you. I made it in remembrance of the day I taught you how to shoot a bow.
It’s an easy weapon to use, not very light but simple in its mechanics and I hope it brings you joy in knowing that it was by someone who is thinking about you every day and wishing you were back home, safe.
Happy Winter’s Veil my love and I hope you can return home soon.
One more gift and one that the hunter was definitely familiar with. The dream catcher that rested on his desk was made specifically by the Tauren tribe in Highmountain. It was simple, yet wondering to the touch and it was his final gift. He saved it specifically for someone who was just as close to him as Vivian was.
His one and only little adopted sister, Shade.
I hope all is well with you. I apologize for my absence in the city. Had to get away for a bit and do other things and I apologize for not being there protecting you.
I have just sent a letter and a gift to Captain Killian and I knew right off the bat that you are needing one to.
This gift, which I’m not sure that you’re familiar with, is a special one.
I have used a contraption like it when I was a boy. It may not look like much but whenever you feel like bad dreams are taking over you, just look to this gift as it hangs on your wall and it will do all it can to protect you.
Plus…it makes a great sort of décor.
Hope to see you soon and a Happy Winters Veil little sister.
With all the gifts wrapped and ready for departure, the hunter made his way outside. After rolling up the letters and setting the wrapped gifts into the talons of the eagles, each one took off soaring with their majestic cries being heard for miles on.
The hunter crossed his arms as he watched them soar off to their destinations with Shadow by his side.
Usually he always forgot to send gifts to those who were close to him but with the holidays here and in his atmosphere of comfort, he knew he had to just that.
After sighing lightly and making his way back inside his tent, he took Skavannah’s gift and stuck it in his armor folds.
He felt he should deliver it personally to her.
HAPPY WINTER’S VEIL EVERYONE!
