IM SO PROUD OF HIM в We Heart It - http://weheartit.com/entry/110061122
He's growing up so fast!
Raaj: I love this time of the year, the leaves are turning, there's a bracing chill in the air. Howard: Plus there's a whole new crop of female grad students about to put on just enough winter weight to make them needy and vulnerable. That's right, honey, have another calzone. Daddy can wait.
Hey Bazinga fans,
Thought i would end with a funny quote! My English class is coming to an end. Winter break is around the corner! It's sad because that's the whole reason I started to blog about my favorite nerds. I love them. I analyzed them in ways I didn't think I ever would. I learned things that I never thought that I would. I shared with you all things that my friends are getting tired of hearing me say. All thanks to this assignment. I might still post if something happens in the series that I need to vent about but I won't post as often. Thank you for reading my blogs this entire time.
Much love,
Jacky <3, a BBT girl.
Amy: At this moment, I find myself craving human intimacy and physical contact. Sheldon: Oh, boy.
SHAMY! (Sheldon and Amy) Bet you didn't think i would talk about them! I love them! Amy is exactly what Sheldon needs. She is his other half. No other way around it. She evokes emotion from SHELDON. No one thought it was possible for Sheldon to feel "love" for anyone. SHAMY is not at "love" level but he got depressed when Amy wasn't in his life! WHAT?! Yeah, I know. Sheldon is so socially awkward and he found a girl who is equally awkward as him. She is also as smart as him! She can keep up to him when he goes on his rampages about something. She can even make him laugh! Sheldon and his laugh are as rare as a blue moon. As you can probably tell that I am so excited for them.
It seems obvious that Amy wants to move forward in the relationship. She wants Sheldon to want her. There is a whole entire episode where she is seducing him through his likes and at the end of the episode Sheldon says that he is being tortured but he doesn't want it to stop. Which brings me to my next topic, is Sheldon capable of falling in love?
From the beginning it has been pretty obvious that he is really baffled by human behavior. He doesn't understand sarcasm. He doesn't even understand how to tell when someone is sad! He wings it! He finds coatis repelling, the whole need for another human. He doesn't understand it at all. Yet he has already experienced depression when he was separated with Amy. He got cats, so many cats. Which makes me hope that he can experience love. There's hope that one day Amy will make his heart beat quicken and his palms sweat. One day, Sheldon Lee Cooper will fall in love with Amy Farah Fowler. I can't wait for that to happen
In this blog I will talk about the Spiderman Comic book! The spiderman a favorite of the nerds of big bang theory. I wanted to talk about this graphic novel because in this book they demonstrate how society thought of kids that didn't fit the norm, like Peter Parker. The high schools quarterback picking on the nerd. In the Amazing Spiderman, Eugene Thompson picks on Peter Parker constantly by calling him names like “puny Parker”. He is the big though athlete that only had football going from him. While Peter Parker was the boy that did good in school had an awkward personality towards people, especially girls. Not only that but his hobby was photography, not a sport that was a socially acceptable pastime to have in the 1960s.
Funny how that isn't the case today. People don't bully the people that stand out anymore. It's become the norm to be different, to stand out! Frankly, this is a huge step forward. Acceptance of the difference in people.
Perfection
Penny: Wait, what is going on? Sheldon: In case you have forgotten, Schrodinger's cat is a thought experiment. Penny: No, no, no, no, I didn't forget. Um, there's this cat in a box and until you open it, it's either dead or alive or both. Although, back in Nebraska, our cat got stuck in my brother's camp trunk, and we did not need to open it to know there was all kinds of dead cat in there.
Amy: Homespun stories, knowledge of physics and a bosom that defies it. You're the whole package, aren't you?
The "WHOLE" package...makes her seem "perfect"...
Seems like there are more and more songs out there about not being that person that society makes you out to be. A perfect song about how the media changes a person's perspective of themselves is Perfect by Pink (The clean version)
Your so mean(your so mean) when you talk(when you talk) about yourself you were wrong Change those voices(change those voices) in your head(in your head) Make them like you instead So complicated look how big you'll make it filled with so much hatred Such a tired game It's enough i've done all i can think off chased down all my demons see you do the same pretty, pretty please don't you ever, ever feel like you're less than less than perfect Pretty, pretty please If you ever, ever feel like your nothing you are perfect to me
Words by pink that make the listener really stop and think about they're true meaning. This is a song about it being okay to be society's "perfect" . Not meeting that stereotype that people label you out to be. It's perfectly okay not to be "perfect" This is another way that media starts to encourage us to be different to stand out! To be the person you want to be no matter what anyone else says. No matter how many battles you have fought. It's okay to stop trying to be everyone else's perfect and to just relax and be your own idea of perfect: there is no body out there that can be a perfect you. Only you can be YOU. I'm pretty sure there's a lot more people out there that agree with me.
Sheldon: I can't seem to get in touch with Amy. I tried e-mail, video chat, tweeting her, posting on her Facebook wall, texting her, nothing. Leonard: Did you try calling her on the telephone? Sheldon: The telephone. You know, Leonard, in your own simple way, you may be the wisest of us all.
It's true. Ever since the invention of MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Skype, and Facetime human contact seems less necessary. There's alot more but there's other subtopics I want to discuss so I won't name all the social sites. There is also a lot I want to say about these sites.
Having all these types of It makes it somewhat more excusable for people not to see each other as often as before the media revolution. Sheldon is right. We are getting to that point now. In my own experience I don't have to try as hard to make plans physically with my family in different states. Now we can just follow each other on Facebook and it makes it okay that we haven't all gotten together in a while. Not to mention friends from high school. I know its impossible to meet up every single day but now it seems more acceptable to just let months pass with no speaking to each other.
Not only that but another issue I find with this use of the social sites is that people are "friends" or are "following" complete strangers. Apparently they don't know stranger danger. It's taught to us since elementary! Why don't people get it! You can't be physically friends with like 3,000 people at once. I understand fans wanting to follow their favorite celebrities but some people just get out of control with these sites. Then people have the nerve to complain about the "perverts" on the internet.
Now I'm not completely trashing these sites. I use them wisely. I don't post things that shouldn't be on there. I watch what I say and what I do. The internet is not private. I love using all the social media sites. I'm just saying something that some people may want to that want they post may come back to haunt them.

Penny: What about Howard and Raaj? How did he become friends with them?
Leonard: I dunno. How do carbon atoms form a benzene ring? Proximity and valence electrons.
Penny: Sure - when you put it like that.
*The link is to a video i made*
The guy's have always been so close, just not from the very start. It was rough at first because Leonard had to go through a series of trials. Leonard then introduced Sheldon to Raaj and Howard. They have had their fights but they always come together in the end. No matter what: they are united. Which makes me think what makes this friendship work? If Sheldon is always so controlling and mean to his "friends" why do they continue to be kind to him? With all the new girls in everyone but Raaj's life how to they stay close?
As the season's progress the audience starts to see how the four came to be. How close they have become over the last years. They even went to Alaska together! Granted they did want to kill Sheldon by the end, they didn't kill him. They are all different but they don't try to change each other. I think that's how they have managed to stay together such a long time. There is something admirable about how they're dorki-ness keeps them together.
They all have been through a lot together. It seems that in season 6 the friendship between Howard and Raaj is going to be tested but knowing those two they will find a happy balance. They have been through a lot together and I don't think anything will break that. Not to mention that I think no matter how much Sheldon doesn't realize he loves his friends. He cares for them.

In an interview with Kaley Cuoco she talks about the "i love you" scene with Penny. The article was, "Kaley Cuoco Weighs In on Big Bang's Big 'Love' Scene ('I Cried'), Teases Next Romantic Twist" by Matt Webb Mitovich and he talks about the episode that has been seen more than any other episode! I will share a couple Question and Answers.
Question: TVLINE | So, let’s talk about that scene. Had you gotten a heads-up that this moment was coming? Or did you stumble across it in the script the same way the words stumbled out of Penny’s mouth?
Answer: I knew that [executive producer Steven] Molaro and the writers had been toying with the idea. Johnny [Galecki] is always trying to get info about what’s the next episode and during one day of shooting, Molaro said something like, “We’re trying to figure out how Penny’s going to say, ‘I love you.’” Weeks later, when we saw the script and did a table read, I thought, “Oh my God,” it was such a well-written scene. Then, on the shoot night, we actually did that in one take. Johnny and I were actually talking about it yesterday, how we literally felt like Leonard and Penny in that hallway. We didn’t even think there was an audience there, that’s how dead silent it was. It just was so perfect, Steve and Chuck [Lorre] came out and said, “We’re going to move on. We don’t want to touch that.”
Question: TVLINE | Your eyes looked a little glassy in the moment. Were you on the cusp of welling up?
Answer: Completely. I cried at the table read. I cried in the rehearsal. I cried in run-throughs. That’s why I had to take such a long beat, because I thought, “If I close my eyes, tears are just going to come streaming down my face,” and I wanted it to look more pent-up. I thought, “Oh, they’ll tighten that [in editing],” but they left it all in there. I guess they liked it.
I love Penny! This episode made me tear up and I'm sure it made you! Penny finally said I love you and it's nice to see that even Kaley Cuoco gets so attached to her character. I love it. WATCH BIG BANG THEORY!
Leonard: 12 years after high school and I'm still at the nerd table.
"From Nerds to Normals: The Recovery of Identity among Adolescents from Middle School to High School" by David A. Kinney talks about the overcoming of the negative social stigma of the word nerd. David A. Kinney was published in Society of Education. Mr. Kinney explains how teenage perceptions of stereotypes and those who were labeled "nerds" where able to overcome the social stigma of the word. He used a variety of ways to study the children. He used interviews, the structure of the way the school divided, and culture in the school. He discovered that in middle school that the "nerds" where still unpopular yet when it came to high school those "nerds" became the norm, it was accepted to be a "nerd"
I find myself agreeing with the findings. During middle school I was labeled a "nerd", which had a negative association to it. I was not in the "in" crowd. Yet in high school being a nerd was okay. I found myself surrounding myself by others that wanted to succeed. It's funny how someone else's research can help you make discoveries about yourself.
Howard: I guess times have changed since we were young. Smart is the new sexy. Leonard: Then why do we go home alone every night? We're still smart. Rajesh: Maybe we're too smart. So smart it's off-putting
Ms. Know it all. Ms. Mayim Bialik,
I watched this interview and I had to post a blog. This woman is the only one in the big bang theory that knows the science behind everyones lines. An actual nerd in the nerd gang. I know that the characters from the big bang theory are actors. I realize this but this is a woman that has a PhD. They don't just hand out this certification to just anyone. She is a legit Doctor and an actress and a book writer. She has done it all. Girls all over the world are looking up to this woman and this is who girls should be looking up to as a role model.
love!!!
(after discovering the "Lord of the Rings"-ring) Sheldon: One ring to rule them all. Rajesh: One ring to find them. Wolowitz: One ring to bring them all. Leonard: And in the darkness bind them. (...silence...)
Rajesh: Holy crap are we nerdy!
In this blog I'm going to talk about the Official Big Bang Theory Fan Site! The site opens up to different types that include : about the show, cast, characters, episode guide, Merchandise, and my favorite of all times the quote tab.
This is one of the best websites to learn all about the show. The website itself is full of pictures from different episodes. It also contains summaries from all the different episodes. That way if you miss an episode you can always get a recap. Theres even video clips from all the episodes!
One other feature is the wiki page! If you have been living under a rock and know absolutely nothing about the nerdizzles (Howard) then this is the perfect page for you! Or even if your curious about a specific fact like what Department does Howard work for then you can just look it up! He works at the Department of Applied Physics by the way.
Now I will talk about my favorite section of this website, the quotes tab. It's absolutely my favorite! Here is where I get all my quotes from! Go on the website and explore everything it has to offer!

Sheldon: Penny, please don't hurt my friend.
Words that absolutely tugged at my heart. Sheldon is concern that Penny will hurt Leonard. Which is exactly why I'm going to talk about it. Now things have always been a awkward in their relationship but now it seems that penny is unhappy with Leonard. She called her love for him "a new boring love". I don't know what to think anymore at the beginning I was all for Penny and Leonard getting together. I though Penny just being unable to accept the fact that she is really meant to be with Leonard because she was scared to fall in love with him. Now I'm just realizing that Penny might not be happy unless Leonard stops being so needy. I don't know what to think. It's making me want to be with other people..yet when I think about it they have been apart before. That didn't work out to well. They acted like a married couple even when they were apart and Sheldon was their baby. I really hope they develop more in the next episode.
Which brings me to a very controversial issue is true love really out there? Is there someone out there really meant for us? If you do believe that there is another perfect half then does that mean that everything in the relationship with come smoothly. I always thought that a relationship is something that needs to be worked on every single day but is there such a thing as trying too hard? Penny and Leonard are complete opposites and they get along great. They don't have much in common but they respect each other's point of view. Leonard loves action figures and once he tried to get rid of them and Penny told him not to change. Penny has also learned a lot from Leonard. She once tried to learn what Leonard does from Sheldon. It was so cute! They both have changed to try to suit each other but how do we know it's TRUE love?

Howard (watching America's Next Top Model): Oh, look! That's the future Mrs. Wolowitz. No, wait! That's the future Mrs. Wolowitz. With her head in the lap of... what a coincidence... is the future Mrs. Wolowitz. Leonard: Yeah, and they can all move in with you and your mother. The current Mrs. Wolowitz.
Bernadette and Howard are the topic for this blog. All I can say is HOW?! How did Howard manage to get such a girl. She's so sweet and smart, she did obtain her doctorates in Microbiology after all. We all doubted it from the start. Don't pretend like you didn't. Howard was a "player" in his own mind. He went out with ALOT of girls, weird ones but girls nevertheless. From the first couple seasons it seem like a far fetched idea that Howard would ever find a girl for him. He lost his virginity to his COUSIN! C'mon how could HE get a girl. Not only that but he was over confident in the way that makes you just want to smack him. Yet as it turns out he is the first out of the four to get MARRIED! what?! yeah, i know. From the moment that Penny introduced her she and Howard hit it off. She changed him. She made him become a tolerable human being. From the moment she started dating Howard she loved his quirky personality. The way he dressed and above all his mother didn't push her away! The moment where Howard told her that he loved her absolutely made me do my girly happy scream (Don't judge me) that was a huge turning point for him and from that moment I knew they were going to be together for a long time. So to this day they continue going strong. She calls him her "sexy astronaut". Whatever floats her boat. She is just as nerdy as them just when it comes to her bacteria. Hope the best for both of them.

Howard: Looks what you created here, it's like Nerdvana.
In "Being a comic nerd is right on the money" by Jason Zinoman the author describes Chris Hardwick view on "nerds". This man leads the multimedia company known as Nerdist Industries. He dedicates this website to people who are not just the stereotypical nerd. There are more types of nerds than anyone can believe, there are art nerds as well as football nerds. He focuses on every kind of nerd. He said something that stuck to my mind. He said that nerds have often been outcasts and now that they are popular it would be hypocritical to be shun out the non-nerds. He proceeds to back up why he is a true nerd. He runs a podcast and he has for quite a while. When listeners follow a person for so long its hard to fake a dorkey personality. Not only that but he likes to talk about Dr.Who or the latest technology. A true nerd talking about other nerds.
The reason I choose this article in the New York Times is because i completely agree with Hardwick. I consider myself a nerd not necessarily a math nerd but a fact nerd, a manga nerd, and a science nerd. I think that the word nerd has evolved from back in the 80s. It's no longer an insult. The movie they used as an example suits what I'm trying to prove now: The revenge of the nerds shows the hatred between jock and nerd. The tension is not there anymore. There is no wall between the smart kids and the athletes. Our society has changed a lot. Now the question is: why?
