Holy shit, what a badass. Cap game.
Every day.
Wolfpack Hustle continues to tear up the SF Bay Area. We're still a couple months away from our 1-year anniversary, but it's just insane how much progress everyone has made. I can confidently say my fitness has grown by an order of magnitude since the inception of this ride. I'm proud and humbled to be a part of this ride. I couldn't ask for a better group of guys to ride with.
Cutie. @jandrosaurus
I want to interrupt this long dry spell of posting to say this: My hair is getting rad.
Incoming political rant, you have been warned.
Oh Ann Coulter, you so silly. RE: Andrea Saul's comment endorsing Gov. Romney's Massachusetts Healthcare reforms:
I'm serious. THERE IS NO POINT TO YOU DOING YOUR [Hannity's] SHOW. There is no point to us going to a convention and pushing for this man [Romney] if he is employing morons like this.
Wait - I thought you were fair and balanced conservatives that just 'showed the facts'? You don't take a stand and push for Republican candidates, right? Hannity's show isn't about favoring one side of the party lines, it's about telling the truth! Surely, Mrs. Coulter, you have misspoke.
Also, how DARE Andrea Saul for telling the truth about (or even brining up) Romney's Massachusetts healthcare reform! That it worked and ensured people still had health care, even if they were laid off. That sounds far too similar (because it is) to Obama's healthcare reform and we all know how 'Conservatives' feel about that! But hey, cheer up, Fox isn't cramming Romney down our throats because they believe he has had a successful political career (he has) or that, if allowed to run his own campaign like he did in Mass., that he would actually be a decent candidate (he would), they are doing it because it's their best chance to get Obama out. It must really sucks to have to pander to people (GOP) that want you to denounce what is arguably your most successful legislative achievement in your career. What Saul has done is tell the truth and in doing so has probably made it very difficult, even for the most strident of conservative republicans to ignore the fact that RomneyCare and ObamaCare as essentially the same thing. Something they very much would like to ignore since ObamaCare has been their number one proof that Obama wants to turn America into a Marx-touting Communist country. Worse still are all the conservative pundits calling for her head (hyperbole) or that she should resign (somewhat more reasonable). I hope the Romney campaign has the foresight to see that that is a VERY BAD IDEA because it highlights one very important thing: In politics, you never tell the truth. It could get you fired.
I think clothing should look forward as much as it looks backwards. I believe new materials and processes can inform classic designs and methodology. I think clothes should make someone feel more like them selves instead of allowing them to pretend to be someone else.
It is with these ideas that I decided to start a line of neckwear, named Vulpine. The ties are handmade in New York City with Italian silk and then (for the first time ever) we have screen printed vinyl on the bottom 1/3 of the tie. Our first run was done in a very (very) limited run and for that reason I am opening up a lottery to get your hands on one. They will come hand numbered and retail at $99. Please email me at [email protected] to put yourself on the list, I will be contacting people in the next week re: payment and shipping.
Over the coming days I will be posting more detail about design and construction, but for now I wanted to say: Internet, meet Vulpine, Vulpine, the Internet.
Time ticks to twenty six
I try not to pay any attention to age, but I do pay a lot of attention to that which makes us age: Time.
The inexorable passage of time; It is that which dooms us yet underscores the necessity to use absolutely every minute, every day, every decade to accomplish something noteworthy. One must, all at once, have respect, disregard and a healthy fear of time.
Respect the fact that, while your hubris leads you to believe you are significant, to Time, you are are infinitesimal. It it will pass you by. Rather than take this as discouragement, realize that you are the maker, the designer of your own Time (what an empowering notion!). Plan, make goals and work towards them.
Life is unpredictable and fleeting; take risks, disregard a month or a year spent in hardship (and adventure alike), embrace it as part of your story. That which makes you, you.
Fear time. Let that fear galvanize you to action. Fear the passage of time. Cherish it, revel in it. Soak in every experience, every detail, be observant. The Now is ephemeral, but attempting to exist in it is a worthy pursuit.
I have taken and received much in my life, so far, and this is an attempt to give a modicum of experience and wisdom, such that it is, back.
Happy Monday, everyone - make it count.
Hello again, Tumblr. How about a great track to start your Monday off right?
Summer in SF: Sunny with a chance of...
Yeah, pretty much. As a cyclist, I hate this.
Rapha, killing it as usual. The visuals and narration in this are just stellar.
Amgen's Tour of California, stage 2. SF -> SC
I played hookie from work and camped out near the top of Skyline to watch.
The early 2-man breakaway rolled by about 1:40 ahead of the main field.
After watching all the team cars pass we headed back to Rapha Cycle Club to watch the rest of the race, live.
Later that night, Wolfpack Hustle did a dirt loop of Mt. San Bruno.
What a great day of cycling.
My ugly mug, on a mug. #rapha #gpoy (Taken with instagram)
We also avoid "the Middle", apparently.
The roomies and I get around. I'm holding down the Far East.
SF Sprints 3, fixed gear event San Francisco
26 May 2012, San Francisco, California
“This year brings something new to the table. For SF Sprints 3 the race will take place during the afternoon instead of the night, this is for two reasons: 1) It’s a whole hell of a lot less cold during the day and 2) It’s a whole hell of a lot easier to take pictures during the day.
The biggest of the changes has to do with how things will run on race day. This year everyone races by themselves until the very last, champion deciding race. Each racer gets two heats where they’ll race against the clock, the fastest of their two times is then used as their only time. The two racers who have the fastest runs will go head to head leaving just one winner.”
– SF Sprints
HELL YES.
