The world we live in feels like a crime,
A promise that’s been broken time after time.
They told us that freedom was meant for us all,
Yet some build their empires while others just fall.
The ones at the top keep raising the wall,
They have endless money while we have no call.
They speak of the people, they promise they’ll hear,
Then disappear when the suffering comes near.
They sit in their towers, surrounded by gold,
Making decisions for millions untold.
They call themselves leaders, protectors, and guides,
While suffering grows on the streets outside.
And billionaires stand with their mountains of cash,
Buying more power while families collapse.
They can purchase attention, influence, and fame,
Then tell us the system is perfectly sane.
How strange is a world where a fortune can speak,
But a child without shelter is labeled too weak.
Where money can open whatever front door,
While poverty keeps people sleeping on floors.
They say, “We care,” when the cameras are near,
They wave to the crowd and pretend they can hear.
But once all the cameras have turned somewhere else,
The promises disappear off the shelves.
And what about people who live on the street?
What about children who have nothing to eat?
What about families exhausted and scared,
Wondering why nobody seems to have cared?
The powerful tell us that change takes its time,
While they keep collecting another dime.
They tell us to wait, they tell us to trust,
While money and power become their new must.
A nation shouldn’t belong to the rich,
While everyone else is left in a ditch.
A government shouldn’t serve those who pay,
Then turn its back on the people each day.
Because leaders are supposed to answer below,
Not only to donors who help their wealth grow.
And power was never supposed to be a throne,
Where those at the top get to rule on their own.
We were promised a country where people were free,
Where justice and fairness were meant to be.
But freedom feels empty when money decides
Whose voice gets heard and whose voice gets denied.
So I look at the towers and wonder aloud:
When did being wealthy become being proud
Of having the power to shape everyone’s fate,
While millions are forced just to sit there and wait?
No fortune should purchase a government voice.
No billionaire should control every choice.
No leader should treat people like numbers to use,
Then call themselves heroes when they have something to lose.
The world doesn’t need another golden throne.
It needs leaders who remember their own
Responsibility to the people below—
The ones without money, connections, or show.
Because someday the silence will finally break,
Not through violence, but choices we make.
Through voices that rise and refuse to disappear,
Through people demanding that leaders should hear.
The country belongs to more than the few
Who have endless wealth and connections to use.
It belongs to the workers, the children, the poor,
The people who’ve been pushed away from the door.
So let history judge what the powerful chose:
Who they protected, and who they opposed.
Let it remember the wealth they possessed,
And whether they used it to help the oppressed.
Because power can glitter, and money can shine,
But neither can make injustice divine.
And no matter how wealthy, important, or proud,
No person is greater than the people allowed.
The world we live in may feel like a crime,
But the ending isn’t written for all of our time.
The future is ours, if we choose to demand
A country for people—not money in command.
