Hurt my back HORRENDOUSLY a few months ago, and then again at the beginning of December but I’m finally mobile again and hoping to be able to make stuff againnnnn. Been doing a lot of baking in the meantime since cutting fabric and sitting over a sewing machine have been off the table. Pumped to start sewing again I have a backlog of stuff that needs to get done.

Yeehaw snow happened! Working on sourcing fabric for a cat quilt for my brother. The pattern I was going to use was taken down so I’m just going to try and draft it myself. Hopefully it turns out!

Quilted ghost costume for my friends daughter :) I made one of these last year for my own and she LOVED it, I’m happy to see a reappearance. I’m a sucker for classic Halloween costumes! My daughter is going as a witch this year, and my son will be a “scary pumpkin”. 🎃 👻

Ok this is so fun everyone should do this and they’re so sparkly they catch my eye every time I walk by my living room. My friend and I did another bedazzle party while we watched the Mormon P&P (genuinely a good and enjoyable retelling actually)

:'D so I got this today

Lovely lady at the local library craft workshop overheard me talking about my sewing misadventures and straight up offered me her old sewing machine. Went over today and had a lovely chat with her, then picked It up. It is absolutely gorgeous and I am still reeling from what a beauty it is!

It's got the cover and the manual, as well as most, if not all, of the accessories. It works perfectly and has been really well looked after, and I am just floundering at what to even do with it.

I have very basic sewing skills but I am determined to make things with this!!

Does anyone have any simple patterns I could try? :o

Baby quilt I found today while going through my grandmothers things. I think it was made by my Abuelita :) I love the little cats, they are all hand embroidered.

"nature in patches"

I just ADORE this piece I made recently. I would hang a quilt sized version up on my wall if I had the house to do so. I do not know what it is about patches and leaves, but they just fit so well together. I truly wish I could keep this.

I might end up keeping this.

WIP Wednesday: cat quilt! I finished the first strip.

I have the whole thing cut out, now it is just putting the pieces together. And figuring out a backing. And a binding. And how to quilt. But other than that I am basically set.

It's all scraps, either from other projects, small amounts gifted from friends, or from the creative reuse store -- mostly scraps from the free bin but some pieces I got for $.50-$2. Mostly cotton, but there is some flannel, a piece of satin, and some garment fabric and denim.

One down, four to go!
