A seasonal throw for my home (Oct. 2024)
finished the water quilt!!! it is machine pieced (of course) but i quilted it and finished the binding by hand :-)
After 9 months I finished my big quilt! Quite possible the largest single piece of artwork I've ever done!
It's machine pieced, but all of the top stitching is hand quilted.

My counselor wanted me to get back into a hobby to help me cope with my downswings. So I made a gradient quilt, that may be a go to pattern now.
Started this quilt about two years ago… And just recently finished piecing it, then basted and started quilting!
I’m quilting by hand—because I dislike quilting with my sewing machine—using thick pearl thread and bigger stitches. This makes it go a little faster.
I also recently stopped using a quilting frame and it’s made it soooo much easier to knock out a ton of work all at once. I’m hoping this one will be ready in about a month for when it gets really chilly at night so it’ll keep me warm all winter!
Of course I found a quilt on my birthday trip! We went to the Kurt Vonnegut museum (which was soooo cool, if you live around Indy it’s worth the trip) and this beauty was hanging in the stairwell!
This was probably the best birthday I’ve ever had, we went to 5 different bookstores, the museum, and had a lovely dinner. 10/10 day!
My first fully hand quilted work! I love her so so much!
My first time using a nicer batting as well, the whole thing is soooo cozy and drapes beautifully! This felt like such a work of love and I feel like I respect hand quilting much more. I am definitely going to start hand quilting all of my personal works and just use machine quilting for time sensitive commissions. Now I get to decide on my next project! :)
