i think jude should get more credit for how funny she is as a narrator. people always praise how she’s so unreliable (and that’s deserved, it makes for such a compelling story) but she genuinely made me have so many laughs whilst reading. i love my clown queen.

you know what i wish would have happened in the books? cardan actually apologizing for tormenting jude. i wanted him acknowledging how wrong he was and asking for her forgiveness while emphasizing how much he actually admires her. i understand why it didn’t happen. there was so much going on and cardan’s speech to her when she sneaks into his room after coming back from the undersea is as much of an apology as we (and her) are ever going to get. i just love the concept of cardan suffering and groveling for jude <333

one thing about tfota that makes me love it so much is that I want to see more of everything. i want to see what cardan’s days were like in hollow hall, i want to see more of his dynamic with locke, valerian and nicasia. i want to see his interactions with his sisters, however brief or hurtful they might have been. i want to see more of his relationship with nicasia. i want to see eva and madoc’s love story. i want to see eva and justin’s love story. i want to see more of asha and eva’s friendship. i want to see more of vivi and heather. i want to see taryn and jude slowly re-building their relationship and taryn apologizing. i want to see madoc raising his daughters when they were little. i want to see more of van and liliver’s past. i want to see garrets’ past as well. i want to see more of orlagh and nicasia’s relationship. i want to see madoc and oriana realizing they are in love now. i want to see more of liriope. i want jude and cardan to sit down and have a talk about the shit they put one another through. i want MORE please give me more

this might sound rude but it's so annoying when people are like "why did they make valerian so handsome in this fanart?" "let's stop making beautiful fanart of locke and show him as he is" "why did you make balekin sooo hot?" like babes the fact that the folk are stunningly beautiful while being tricksters and horrible people is a reocurring theme in the books. yes, they are dreadful on the inside but they meet the beauty standard. plenty of people like that exist in real life. equating looks with morals sounds like a you problem.

it's curious to me that the folk have no surnames. i guess there's no need to preserve their family name after they pass away bc they live forever. the only ones with a surname are the royal family and it's probably bc high queen mab wanted to establish and differentiate her dynasty. it ocurred to me that it's similar to asoiaf (where the smallfolk have no family names, only the nobility and royalty) but in tfota not even all the royals have it, only the greenbriars. queen orlagh and nicasia don't and the rulers of the lower courts don't either.

What the people who “hated” the half-time show (which they didn't even watch) are REALLY saying is, “I don't want to see or learn anything new. Show me what I already KKKnow and liKKKe! Show me people who looKKK and sound like ME!! WAAAAA!!!”

And they had their “safe-space,” star-spangled-snowflake, half-time show which didn't challenge their intelligence or cultural biases at all. Good for them!
