Strange weekend and 2 big matches
This weekend we had some strange events and 2 derbies- Manchester and Rome... And i will look at four teams- Arsenal, Tottenham, Napoli and AS Roma- Four teams from top of the Premier League and Serie A.
Firstly- Mario Balotelli missed a penalty. For the first time in his career he didn't score from the 11th meter... But his shot was on target but Reina saved it. But 'saved=bad taken'
Barcelona always has more possession than rivals... Even when they lose... But during last match vs. Rayo Vallecano they had 49%... Does Barca change? Is it the end of tiki-taka? Absolutely not... Last match at Estadio de Vallecas Barcelona had 54% of possession. So Rayo played better match than last time.
3rd strange event is- John Obi Mikel scored a goal for Chelsea... in his 185th match in Premier League. It is his first one. He has already scored in League Cup, FA Cup, International Competitions for Nigeria, but it was really hard to score in league. Congratulations John!
Let's start with Manchester.... These 2 teams changed their managers. City hired Pellegini- well-known chilean coach. United hired David Moyes who.... is Scotish like Sir Alex... and he chose him... But acctually United is on the 8th place and they lost points with Chelsea, Liverpool and City... But the way what they lost with City is impossible. They gave up in first half. Even at Old Trafford when they lost 1-6 thay were fighting to the end... David Moyes has to experience top Europe football... Unlike Pellegrini- he reached 1/4 with Villareal and Malaga...
Roma under Rudi Garcia is getting better and better. Four of 5 list derbies was won by Lazio- it is very bad result for Totti's team. Maybe for him (he will retire after this season) they finally they won at Stadio Olipmico. Maybe it is result of new project what we can see in Roma.
AS Roma, Napoli, Arsenal and Tottenham... This seasons we cna see quite different versions of these teams. They all are onthe top of their leagues. AS Roma changed few players- they bought Strootman, Gervinho, DeSanctis... but the crucial was hiring Rudi Garcia- under him Roma is a team what can fight for a title. I will keep eye on them.
Napoli sold their biggest star- Cavani and they spent it very well- Higuain, Albiol, Callejon, Reina connected to Insigne, Hamsik can make them one of the best theams in Italy. But who will connect them and make them a team... 'The Unwanted'- Rafa Benitez.... As 'temporary' coach in Chelsea he wan Europa League but isn't enough for Abramovic who chose Mou. But Rafa found his place in Napoli and he is going to prove his skills in Italy. He has already done it with Dortumnd and Milan.
Let's travel to London and look at Tottenham... All summer they knew that Bale will leave them. Finally they sold him at the last moment. They bought 7 players- 4 of them may be crucial in this season- Soldado, Eriksen, Paulinho and Lamela... They don't play spectaclar so far but they have results. Perhaps they will return ri the Champins League
Arsenal is quite different than rest of these clubs. They made only 1 (money) transfer this summer. But what transfer! Wenger waited for an occasion and he used it. But Ozil doesn't play alone. He cooperates with Wilshere, Ramsey, Giroud.... Maybe this season will be better (than 4th place) than last few. They will be dangerous for Europe elite.
