Nora says in the EC that Tetsuji didnt really Care to have complete control anywhere else but the Nest. So thinking that he would Just accept It all so easily is probably not right.

I think most of the fandom agrees that he will make an appearence soon.

Which I think he will, but I have been thinking. At first I thought he would have some plan focused on getting his "things" (Kevin, Jean, Neil) and the Nest back. But I feel like It might be deeper than that.

Kengo probably would have never negotiated with Neil like Ichirou did. As much as I think Tetsuji must deeply hate Neil, the one who took everything from him was Ichirou. He made Kevin, Jean and Neil main branch property, killed Riko, forced Tetsuji to retire and closed the Nest.

Taking all this humiliation from your literal nephew must not leave someone very happy

What If Tetsuji's revange is firstly and foremost directed at the main family??

i think this is a very compelling way of looking at tetsuji! he is, after all, essentially the original captive of the nest, given an exy leash just long enough to financially benefit the main family, but no real freedom*. it's hard to imagine he wanted to raise riko; i doubt he had a choice in the matter. both of them share the position of second born, the spare sons who live to serve the main branch. we know that tetsuji receives money from the main branch, so he is also indebted to them and thus probably under a lot of pressure to ensure their investments (i.e. riko, kevin, and jean) really are the best and return a suitable profit for the money sank into training and raising them.

tetsuji has much to resent kengo for – kayleigh's murder most of all. we're told in the EC that tetsuji is so grief-stricken and angry over her death that he doesn't say a word to his brother for years. he loved kayleigh (however you interpret the nature of the love) and i reckon she was the real reason he even invested in exy in the first place. that, and it was something of his own that wasn't his brother's and father's. once she was dead, and the sport they made together firmly in the mafia's pocket, what was there left to love?

i think he hates the main family, and ichirou is not exempt from that, but ichirou has also sort of (unknowingly) freed him from the cage he was trapped in. when you take tetsuji's lifelong resentment for the main branch and add it to the death of his brother (a man he was scared of while alive) and ichirou's dismantling of everything he has spent years working for, i think he's essentially a loaded canon just waiting to walk into a court room and bring them down. he quite literally has nothing to lose – besides his own life, which he never really had in the first place.

(*worth saying that i think the first-born sons have even less freedom, and riko & tetsuji are blind to that bc of their fear and resentment, but that's for another time)

basically the best thing any character can do is decide they don't want to be afraid anymore - in fact they never want to be afraid of anything ever again - and take action so drastic they fail to realise that this too is a decision motivated by fear. or to account for the Consequences of that.
