"Oh, now that's simply a tragedy and we can't have that happen." If anything, James loved food. She had plenty of crackers, fruitbars, chocolate bars and candies in her bag for whenever she had the munchies. Everyone at some point would walk to her and find her chowing down on something. "Where's the taco stand? I'm kind of craving one myself now too so it's the perfect opportunity for you to get another one. I'll try to get a buy one get one free from them. Bat my eyelashes and stuff." @alliannahvaughn

"You don't have to do that." Alli shook her head, though the smirk on her lips was obvious. She'd love for someone else to get something free on her behalf, even if they had no plans to share with her; you could never expect too much with people these days. "It's uh-" she paused, turning slightly to look at the direction she'd come from, which hadn't been obvious now that she looked at it. Since she'd opted for no tray or way to hold anything that she dropped, she'd been loosing part of the taco since she picked it up to take that first bite which had been two seconds after she put her wallet away. "It's that way." she nodded towards the direction she'd come from. "I'll come with; don't feel obligated to give me a free one if you manage to get one." @jamesxadams

Lucas listened carefully as Alli explained what was going on. He did know how siblings could be. His brothers and him used to fight about random stuff all the time, but make up again fifteen minutes later. Or pretend it never happened. He never had something last a few months. Nor did he plan to after being gone for so long. "I'm all for doing what's best for you and Jordan. Have you tried talking to her? Or her you?" He asked curiously. @alliannahvaughn

"No." Alliannah shook her head, gaze shifting to Lucas. "I mean, we've talked but not about the tension." she shrugged. "I tried to ask her about it back around my birthday when she made it obvious in her instagram post that there was something going on; even called her out for calling me Alliannah instead of just Alli, but-" she paused. "She claimed there wasn't anything going on, but I don't by it for a second." she admitted. "I can't prove it, but I know part of it is because I had Jordan and I don't think my family likes that I got someone's hopes up and then couldn't follow through with it." she admitted. "But how could I? Look at her; she's perfect." @lucaswilder

He sighed. He didn't like what happened to Alli; it wasn't right. She didn't do anything wrong. But even though it wasn't perfect, Jordan was the best thing for them both. "The best you and Jordan," he smiled at her softly and gave her a soft kiss. Hearing what she said, he sat up, but still kept his eyes on her; he cared for her more than sitting back on the couch. He knew she was off sometimes after visiting family, but he never knew the details. "No you didnt" he said as he watched her as she spoke. "What?" he said. He wanted to let her finish talking, but he was getting annoyed. "That's silly, it's not like we are sixteen or something," they were both adults. Yes, they planned one way and ended up another, but that wasn't the worst thing. "What no" he was annoyed getting mad at Sawyer for how she was acting "That's stupid its not like she has a baby or any of your siblings" that were of age to need young baby toys "Not like you would take them all and keep them just take some to use and give them back once Jordan is older" he shook his head making mental note to talk to Sawyer. He made a face. It was hard; he didnt have much family like Alli did, so he didnt get why her family would be so rude. "They all seem like they are mad about how it all happened." Not married or dating at the time, the failed adoption thing was a lot. "But again, like no new parent is perfect or knows what to do," you learn along the way, it was how it was. He put his arms around her to hold her close again. "Alli, they all suck and shouldn't treat you that bad." he hated it. @alliannahvaughn

Alli listened as Nolan said it was silly, and she shrugged, looking at the other for a quick moment. "It is." she stated. "And I mean, I could very well be projecting." She sighed, eyes shifting to look at her boyfriend. "At this point I'm just going based specifically on how it feels. And it feels like I did something to disappoint them to the point they can't forgive me." she admitted, shaking her head. "I just -" another pause. "I just wish things were different. That if there was a problem they'd tell me because I'm tired of feeling like I have no one I can lean on but if Sawyer or my brother ask there's no questions about it." It wasn't fair, and Alli would know that if she'd take a moment to think logically that her parents had been the sole reason she'd even been able to start her jewelry business. Without their help she wouldn't even have that for herself. But right now she was too bent out of shape about how she was feeling in this moment. "I know we aren't perfect but we're trying and sometimes I feel like they don't even see that." @nolanxmurray

He didnt know what was going on, and it worried him. Alli was so strong to him so he didnt like to see her feel so weak. That he couldn't do anything to help her yet. He just let her fall into his arms, holding her close to keep her safe. As much as he wanted to ask again what happened, he was going to wait. Nolan held her close and sometimes rubbed her back to try to make it better somehow. Hearing what she said, he looked down at his shirt. "It's fine..." He didn't even notice till she said something, and now he knew it was from her tears. "What?" He didn't expect her to ask something like that as he eyed the nursery for a moment. He used his finger to wipe tears from her face. "She wasn't planned and not at the right time for eyes," he said, looking at the nursery door, but looked at Alli. "But she's the best thing that ever happened to us." It was a mess; they both were broke. Jordan was the best thing in their lives; they made them a couple, they made their friends and family happy. "That's not true, Chris is... he has to, he won't let us be homeless," but he knew Chris felt that it wasn't right also to Nolan. "What happened Alli..." he asked once more. @alliannahvaughn

Alli exhaled, eyes only meeting Nolan's for a second when he corrected her, adding that Christopher also in her corner - in their corner - she sighed. It were true, and she knew that, but, her mind was racing. "I know Jordan's the best thing that's ever happened to me." she added. "She gave me you in the end of it all." Truthfully she gave them each other. "But sometimes I just -" she paused, shaking her head again. It was only when Nolan asked a second time that Alli let herself shift, sitting up more comfortably and bringing her knees to her chest. "I don't know if I've even told you -" she admitted, looking at her boyfriend. "But ever since Jordan were born, things with Sawyer have been weird. Tense. Almost like she's ashamed of me or something, but I've always had this gut feeling that maybe she didn't think I knew what I was doing." she started, taking a moment to wipe at her eye. "I even went as far as to assume maybe she wanted a baby and couldn't and maybe it was jealousy." Alli admitted, at this point thinking out loud. "I didn't have any sort of logical reason as to why my own sister would start treating me differently, but I mean, it's not something you really ask." she admitted. "So I went by there to see Mom, she wanted to see Jordan and I was going to hang out for a bit, let her sleep and then come home later. I got there and Sawyer was there, and at first it was all fine. Things almost felt normal, and then I found a toy I used to be obsessed with and I casually mentioned taking it for Jordan. Sawyer blew up. Basically said that it wasn't fair to take it unless I was going to share it with all the other kids and that just because I had a kid first didn't mean I got to claim everything for Jordan." she shrugged. "I was willing to look past it all, until I remembered that I asked mom months ago when we were trying to find a place to live for help and she told me her and dad couldn't help me. But Sawyer asked them for dishes and Mom sent her in the attic to get whatever she wanted." she paused, exhaling again. "And then mom started hounding me about what Jordan needed, like I don't know how to take care of our child." At this point Alli was crying again, recapping the last couple hours to Nolan as if her life depended on it. "I just don't understand what I did to not get the same support from my family just because I had a child." @nolanxmurray

Nolan was at home in the living room waiting for Alli to get home. He knew she had gone to her family home to get something and would be home later. He didnt know much, but he was happy to get the message that Alli was coming home. He had worked his job so he was tired and ready to have some downtime with Alli and Jordan.

Hearing her car pull into the drive, he got up to greet her, but soon saw how she was acting as she got Jordan out of the car. Something was up, but he didnt know what. As soon as she came through the door, "Alli..." He paused, seeing her hand up, and did as she asked, waiting. He did his best to stay back but he really wanted to go into her and see what was going on.

But he moved back to the living room and sat down on the couch, waiting. He was nervous about what made her so upset. "Alli," he got up to hold her and got them back onto the couch. "What happened ?" he asked as he did his best to hold her close to try and take away her pain. @alliannahvaughn

Hearing the way Nolan said her name sent a jolt through Alliannah's body; one that seemed to only make her more nervous. Yet, she did her best to let it settle, arms around Nolan's torso as she cried. She hadn't even noticed that he'd lowered them onto the couch, too occupied with all the thoughts that were going through her mind. Yet, she couldn't speak. Instead, his question was met with more tears, some that she couldn't seem to make stop.

They sat like that for what felt like an eternity before she let herself sit up slowly, eyes blinking as they settled on his shirt, the spot her face had just been buried in soaking wet from the tears that had been escaping her eyes a moment ago. "You're shirt's all wet." she commented, fingers playing with the hem of his shirt, but not because she was hinting at anything, more so because in this moment she didn't want to make eye contact. Instead she just exhaled. "Do you still think we made the right decision?" she paused, finally looking up at him as she sucked her bottom lip between her teeth, letting another tear fall. "I'm not second guessing I just -" she paused, shaking her head. "Sometimes I really do think you and Chris are the only two in my corner and it sucks." she added, though this time the words were met with the sound of her voice breaking. @nolanxmurray

The drive back to the home she shared with her boyfriend and his brother felt excruciatingly long. Jordan had fallen asleep promptly five minutes after her bottle had finished, leaving Alliannah alone with her thoughts. Thoughts of which never ended well and instead sent Alliannah into a mental spiral, one that she wasn't sure she'd get out of. She had to, but, maybe she could cry a little first.

She pulled into the driveway, somehow managing to park with tears streaming her face and she closed the door, moving to the backseat and carefully taking Jordan from her car seat, peppering kisses against her daughter's face in an attempt to calm herself down, when in reality it only made it worse. Yet she moved forward, bypassing Nolan in the process, a finger held up to signal she'd be right back before she went and placed Jordan in the basinet in their room, watching her for a moment to make sure she was actually sleeping before she made her way back to Nolan. By this point she was nearly in hysterics and she exhaled, her breath shaky as she tossed herself into Nolan, letting out a quiet sob as her arms snaked around him. She wasn't sure she could explain to him why she was so upset, so, she hoped for a moment he'd just comfort her however he could.

At this point, Alliannah had barely noticed that her sister had retreated from the attic. All she could focus on was the way that her Mom's words seemed to be nagging at her, mixed with the way Jordan was watching Alli, smiling at her as if Alliannah was Jordan's entire world. Something that would've ordinarily warmed her heart, but, inevitably in this moment just made Alliannah even more upset. "Don't tell me to breathe, Sawyer." she exhaled, turning to look at her sister. "I'm so tired of everyone treating me like I did something terrible." By this time, the box she'd carried down had been placed on the countertop, opened by their mother who was examining it as if to make sure none of the dishes were actually broken. A remind that Alli had done yet another thing to disappoint her family. "My entire life I've spent it all being the disappointment. The one that caused all the trouble, the one that always got the most lectures because 'no one was ever going to want me around if I didn't make something of myself." she stated. "I'm trying." she paused, voice cracking as she reached for Jordan, holding her daughter close to her chest. "I'm trying and all this family ever does is remind me how much of a disappointment I am." At this point she were projecting, her voice louder than it should've been considering her daughter was in her arms, which Jordan used as an opportunity to fuss. "Enjoy being the favorite daughter, Sawyer. Clearly it's never going to be me." @sawyervaughn

Sawyer put her hands up in surrender as her sister went off. She turned towards the dishes and started getting them out as well with her mom's help. However, she stopped and turned to Alli as she continued to talk about how she was the disappointment and how they reminded her of that. Sawyer's face fell and she hated seeing her sister like this. It was clear that she needed to talk to Alli and soon. Something was going on and them currently not having their usual sister relationship was wrong. "Alli..." She said, but her mom stopped her as she watched her little sister leave. "Let her be. She'll calm down." Their mother commented then went into looking at the dishes. Sawyer watched the doorway for a moment, made a mental note to go to Alli soon, and then turned to their mom and the dishes. @alliannahvaughn

She rolled her eyes again at the comment. "Says the girl who just made some glass clink in there." She said more under her breath than towards her sister. Once Alli was down, Sawyer made her way down the ladder and barely heard what her mom was saying about Jordan as she focused more on the box; opening it up just to make sure everything was good. Not that she didn't trust her sister, she just wanted to verify from the amount of time the box was in the attic. As Alli snapped, she looked at her sister and scoffed. "Jesus, Alli. Calm down. Breathe or something." @alliannahvaughn

The change was quick, but wasn't unexpected. For a second of them being more like their usual sister selves, going back to the tense version wasn't shocking. At least to Sawyer. "Okay then." She shook her head and took a breath as they headed to the ladder to go down. Her sister snapping made her roll her eyes. "I was just making sure. Jesus." She heard the clinking of the glass and she looked at her. "No, but could you at least be careful with this one? Last thing I want is to do all this work and you breaking everything." @alliannahvaughn

Hearing Swayer's tone - while justified - just made Alliannah's blood boil a little more. Yet, she bit her tongue, not wanting to cause a scene while she were trying her best to climb down a ladder. It was only when the other asked if she could be more careful that Alli let herself exhale. "I'm not stupid, Sawyer I know how to handle a box." Though, again, Sawyer's comment was justified. Alliannah had been rougher than she'd planned to be; she was just feeling a lot of emotions in the moment. It was only once she made her way down the ladder, feet on the ground that she heard her mom's voice asking her questions about Jordan, questions that in Alliannah's mind felt degrading. "I know how to take care of my kid, Mom." she stated, looking at Jordan who was facing outwards, eyes focusing on Alli. "Unlike what seems to be what everyone thinks around here I'm not incompetent. I know what I'm doing." @sawyervaughn

He looked at Alli and at Jordan for a moment. He just wanted the best for them both. "I need to promote my lawn care thing more ... get more work." he wanted to do more with it, but it was hard to get started. "But we will get her the world," he didnt want her ot have a bad life because he couldn't do enough for her. "But that sounds great" and didnt cost a lot so they could do it once in a while. Soon enough, they arrived outside the shop, and he smiled, "Jordan is gonna eat like a lot of real food soon..." She was starting with baby food, but soon would be real foods. @alliannahvaughn

"We'll make some flyers or business cards or something." she shrugged. "I'll put them out at the shop, see if we can get you more customers." she paused. "Aarin said she could watch Jordan some through the week so I'll see what we can work out. Either get a second job, or pick up a double or something." she shrugged. "We'll figure it out." And she knew somehow they would. Even if it meant deep diving into her side business enough to make enough money for a sitter or something. "She will be." Alli stated, getting the infant from her car seat and watched as she leaned into Alli before looking towards her father, smiling a little wider. "I think that face means she wants you to feed her." she laughed, digging into the diaper bag with one hand to grab some food and a spoon, handing them to Nolan. "Find us a table, I'll get our usual." @nolanxmurray

"Shit." Alliannah cursed, leaning down to pick up another bite of the taco she'd managed to buy at one of the food trucks near by. The unfortunate part was, she'd opted out of any sort of tray or paper as she'd been overly confident that she'd mastered eating with one hand by now that she'd be fine. But, seeing as how this was the fifth time she'd had to stop to pick up another bite she'd dropped, she was beginning to regret it. Standing up, only to drop another bite she exhaled, closing her eyes. "You know-" she ranted without actually even realizing there was anyone else around or not. Talking into the void as she called it. "I want to say this taco is delicious but more of it's landed on the ground than what I've actually gotten to try."

"Yeah," she nodded her head slowly. "You've got a village of people that are willing to help." It was a gentle reminder to Alliannah. Nodding her head once more, she gave her sister in law a warm smile. "Of course, I don't mind, Alli. We are family." Even before Aarin married the Vaughn's son, Alli had been family. She grew up glued at the hip to Sawyer. "I would love to help out in anyway that I can. You can call me and your brother for anything, okay?" Aarin assured her, keeping her gaze on Alli for a beat. "We are always going to be here for you." @alliannahvaughn

Alli let her body relax as Aarin reassured her that they were family and that Alliannah could rely on them for anything forever. She knew, sure, but it was always nice to hear it. A reassurance she'd never regret taking to heart. "You two really do make my life easier." Alliannah smiled. "I know I give my brother shit all the time but he's really the best. He's lucky to have someone like you in his life as well." Alliannah exhaled. "I'll figure out what I need to do schedule wise with work and we'll make something work out so you can keep her." she nodded. "But if she starts walking while she's here, I'm not so sure I want you to tell me." she laughed. @aarinxvaughn

Lucas laughed and nodded. "Got it." He told her and smiled. "Okay. I will." He promised, then took note about how she reacted about the question about her sister. "You guess? Are you two in a fight or something?" Lucas asked curiously. He knew how the whole sibling relationship worked and things could get complicated at times. He had his own fights with Vance and Trey over the years, but of course, now things were different. @alliannahvaughn

"Something like that." Alli shrugged, looking over at him. "You know how siblings are." she stated "She's been weird ever since Jordan was born, like, barely talking to me." she spoke. "We had finally started to make up and things got weird again." she paused. "I blew up at her because of something that wasn't her fault, but, she wasn't exactly helping." she added. "Sibling shit. And I miss being close with her but I don't like feeling like I did something awful by deciding to keep Jordan so, if staying away is what I need to do for myself, I'll do it." @lucaswilder

So if you start working more, I can help fill in some of the childcare gaps." She offered to her sister in law. Aarin wasn't offering because she had to but rather that she wanted to help, in the event that Alli needed it. "You don't have to decide now or anything, but if it comes up and you need some consistent help, you can count me in." @alliannahvaughn

Alli listened as Aarin spoke, her eyes shifting from Jordan to Aarin. "I mean, I'm sure that would be really helpful." she nodded. "Even if it's just a couple days a week, I could maybe talk to Mom, see if she can help." she paused. I don't want to intrude on your time." Alliannah knew that she should've looked into all of this before she had a baby, and in a perfect world she would have.
