A “poem” of sorts I wrote on a whim
man i bet, just in paris alone even, half a billion dollars sure could do a lot of permanent good for the poor and needy, but, let us come together now to rebuild this historic church for the good of all man. so who’s looking forward to the next survivor episode tomorrow night? good season so far I think
Do you not realize that Notre-Dame actually runs a homeless shelter? Or that it was one of the greatest architectural achievements in all of European history?
so true. we MUST spend half a billion dollars on this to repair this mighty architectural spectacle which surely is not already enshrined in other media so that both future instagrammers and the poor alike can gather there. there is simply NO other option. everyone knows notre dame is the only available locale for a homeless shelter
i think jeff probst may be losing his touch a bit but the season quality is still pretty steady after all these years which is a good sign
This is so incredibly rude. I’m not catholic but my god, churches and holy places do a lot for their communities especially the homeless. Good Lord get off your high horse. Hope no one burns down your religious structures or anh place that helps as well.
everyone knows elaborate centuries old billion dollars works of high class architecture are the only places that can authoritatively and efficiently delver welfare to parisians. im very glad that $600M will be spent on wood and stone so that the homeless will have a place to get some soup.
I think they need to start going to places other than fiji. I’d even be okay with a south american season at this point
South america would be great, true
I’d take anywhere that wasn’t an island at this point. the two seasons they did in africa were my absolute favorite settings. china was also very cool. they gotta pick up the variety just a little bit
I really thought edge of extinction was going to be a bad twist but so far it’s been entertaining as hell.
yes surprisingly actually a good theme. they’re devoting about the right time to it too. much better than millennials vs gen x haha
Although Notre Dame brings in more tourists than the Eiffel Tower per year. That’s great for the french economy. And yes I do see your point regarding homelessness etc.
But if a private person (not even the government) wants to donate their money to rebuild a historic building that will in turn help keep the tourist flow( helping the economy grow etc), then I see no problem.
So not only is it helping rebuild one of the most famous buildings in Europe and a place that uses a lot of their income (via tourists) to pour back Into the community. But it is also rebuilding a site that brings a lot of people to Paris.
asked a boy, of the universe: shall i grow strong? shall i grow old?
strong as atlas, said the universe, to the end of an age and more, said the universe.
(indeed, the weight of the world rested on his shoulders, and he survived the end of one age, and sparked the end of another)
asked a hero, of the universe: who will i teach? who will i love?
the greatest powers of their ages, said the universe, great people as numbered as the stars, said the universe.
(he taught the monster who held a galaxy in darkness, and the child who returned it to light. and oh, did he love, every star as it burned out)
asked a martyr, of the universe: what is left of me? shall i find rest?
your body, your soul, and your sorrow, said the universe, no, not for you, said the universe.
not yet.
(and the universe did not lie)
asked the universe, of a man: what will you give?
all of me, said the man.
asked the universe, of the man: why?
ah, said the man, because that is love.
asked the universe, of the man: and what good is love?
and the man was silent.
said the man, to the universe: fertile soil, for all things that grow.
was it worth it? asked the universe, was it? asked the man.
(and the universe had no answer)

But don’t do it In front of my fucking face.
I don’t care if you go hangout without me. But legit planning it right in front of me accomplishes nothing except making me feel like shit.

Omg I was at the frozen yogurt place, and people hang up notes written on napkins all the time and I saw this one!! How adorable 😍
Anyone remember that part in 2016 when clowns would chase and knife people in the streets and noone did anything about it
I wish people would stop saying “It’s July. Well done for wasting half a year.” Did you make someone smile in the past six months? Did you stroke a cat or throw a stick for a dog? Did you learn a new fact or teach someone a new joke? Did you laugh, cry, scream or sing in the past six months? Because if so, congratulations for not wasting your time at all.

you are fine. i know everything seems to be moving fast and it all seems so scary right now, but you are absolutely fine. take deep breaths and remember to remain in the present. keep your thoughts light and your burden will subside. your worries will blow away like a leaf on a windy day. the sun will come up tomorrow, the wind will continue to blow. you will be okay. you will be alright.
