The entire list of electors (people eligible to vote) in Alberta was given, through a political party called the Republican Party of Alberta, to a pro-“sovereignty” group called the Centurion Project who then created a publicly available, searchable database of the whole thing.

This means every adult who is eligible to vote in Alberta has had the following information leaked: first names, middle names, surnames, addresses, postal codes, telephone numbers, unique identifier numbers, electoral divisions and voting areas.

Elections Alberta got an emergency injunction to have the website taken down but the horse is out of the barn, our information is out there now.

I think I have two more things to say about this.

This isn't just a case of tumblr staff transphobia this is more than likely (not confirmed yet but I'm fairly confident this is accurate, my point remains regardless) a result of targeted mass reporting by folks who saw a single innocuous joke about incest which was deleted later and decided Charlotte was a horrible person who deserved punishment. The end lesson shouldn't only be "Lets kill Matt Mullenweg with hammers" but also "Trans women are forced to live in a constant state of fear of being labelled as One Of The Bad Trannies by societal forces which perceive trans women as aggressive sexual perverts and institutional forces which give easy access for bad actors to punish them. Watched a BBC special about the campaign of rape and ethnic cleansing that's happening as part of the war in the Congo and felt woozy afterwards from listening to the women describe what they (and their children) lived through, only to go onto twitter and see the pictures coming out of Rafah.

I have a little spare money at the end of every week, so I've been picking a fundraiser at random to donate to here. If you have any to spare, there are so many people trying to reach safety that need help. I will not give into despair and look away.
