The New York Times Book Review said that Amy and Isabelle is "one of those rare, invigorating books that take an apparently familiar world and peer into it with ruthless intimacy, revealing a strange and starting place." I couldn't agree more - even though I rarely agree with the NYTBR.

This is one of those books that I think most adults should read - if just to understand what was happening with their parents when they were kids.

I really like this song a lot. There is something gentle about it. Something soothing. I had never heard of these guys until a few months ago, but I ended up buying two of their albums. Really good stuff. Thanks for the music!

I took this picture at Wachusett Reservoir. It looked liked whoever had carved these initials into the tree had done so many years ago and I found myself wondering if they are still out there somewhere, still loving each other.

I took this photo a few years back at Ogunquit Harbor. You'll find many similar photos out there on the web (lots of people love this view), but I absolutely love the little red dinghy in the foreground. Not sure why.
