Uh. hi? hi! it’s louie! lou! I’M NOT DEAD I SWEAR !!! um! sorry i uh. fucking vanished! things have been a lot and honestly kinda rough for the past monthish but overall i am doing well! in the time i’ve been gone i’ve made the dean’s list twice, did a four-hour roadtrip to visit an online friend, then we fell in love and now she’s my girlfriend and i love her so so much, played a lot of D&D, broke my elbow, healed my elbow, got like really autistic about music (and other stuff but music’s been a really consistent one) and saw king gizzard live which was fucking amazing! i think thats kinda all the highlights. but yeah. i’ve sadly migrated mostly to other platforms (instagram for my irls, tw*tter for my online pals and now bluesky maybe?, and i miiiiight remake so i can follow my girlfriend and pester her even more hehehe) but i want y’all to know that you haven’t been forgotten! i think about you guys- my awesome mutuals my friends my good time pals- a fair bit, and i hope you’re all doing well. it might kinda seem like dark times now, but i trust that there are good people in this world who care and who can help and who will help us get to brighter times and also those good people include you. there’s some great AJJ lines i could put here to emphasize my point but i’ll spare you all the trouble. i love you all and i hope you have a lovely day/night :D

They are measuring with their intuition, instinct, and experience, all of which are built by following recipes (written or taught by family), experimenting a lot, or some combination of the two: no matter how they learned, they learned it through cooking way more than you have. If you're trying to cook based on instinct or the assumption that you should just be able to figure it out and you don't like how your food comes out or you don't know where to start, find recipes and follow them to the letter. There is nothing wrong with looking up how to scramble eggs or make a stir fry. It will make your cooking better and easier, I promise.
