Had the honor of submitting work alongside many incredible sign painters for The Pre-Vinylette Society, an international art showcase for women sign painters! There were over 60+ submissions and a 1/3 was able to come for the show. I had an amazing time flying into Chicago, made a ton of friends, and was so overwhelmed by the positive energy & support that came pouring in. I almost cried the entire time. 

My sign was heavily influenced by tattoo shop signs that would usually read no drunks, phones, whining, etc. I just swapped it out for shitty people (but mostly dudes) that we come across in life. Check it out if you’re local / while you still can, the closing party will be on Sept 28th at the Chicago Art Department.

So happy to have started & finished the daily hand lettering challenge! All of these letters are hand painted with either 1-shot lettering enamel, 1-shot poster paint, or a combo of both in one. I’ve tried so many letterforms, treatments, brushes, and painted on materials I’ve never tried before. I constantly dug deep into books and online archives for inspiration. I still have much to learn—but this was a very fun and enriching part of my day this past month! I always watched in awe as others dove into challenges like these so I’m real proud of myself that I was able to get in on it this time around. Thank you to everyone that hyped me up all throughout :) See them individually here.

Last one for the books! So stoked I was able to start and finish this letter-a-day challenge. I had so much fun practicing and exploring letter styles 🙌🏼 there's still much to learn but I'm glad I made it part of my routine! Thanks @handletteredabcs!
