« The gardener working under my window is an admirer of the world. He doesn’t think in terms of ‘producing’ plants. He cultivates. He helps grow that which exists without him. He doesn’t create, doesn’t build; he takes care of. Hence his humbleness. […] Plants often outdo him; he doesn’t feel shame or bitterness, but rather the dignity of belonging. »
— Chantal Delsol, La haine du monde
i miss the late 2000s trend where artists would play their own romantic rivals in music videos
now THIS was cinema
i pray that aug, sep, oct, nov and dec are all months full of growth, blessings, productivity, new doors open and opportunities
The other day, lying in bed, I felt my heart beating for the first time in a long while. I realized how little I live in my body, how much in my mind.
Rodger Kamenetz, from Terra Infirma (University of Arkansas Press, 1985)
The more we focus on the results we want to achieve and how long it is taking us to get them, the more we are stressing ourselves and losing the joy and passion we had in the beginning. Let's stop doing this but enjoy the process, no matter how long it will take: results will come the moment we will be ready to get them and enjoy them, and appreciate each step of the way that took us to get them.

life hack: don’t think of things as selfish.
i want you to repeat this again, and again, and again: self care is not selfish.
taking an hour in the bath to settle yourself when all that you feel like doing is something worse is not selfish. it is healthy and okay. you are allowed to take time for yourself.
not wanting to talk to others is not selfish. we do not blame cats when they want to be alone, we give them their space. you are allowed to take time for yourself.
wanting to be complimented and validated by others is not selfish. would you ever shame someone for wanting praise? we do not scorn the dogs that seek our approval, nor should we scorn ourselves. you are allowed to seek out approval.
it is not selfish. it is taking care of yourself, and at the end of the day, please do not forget: self care will never be selfish.
